In reply to: [Resolved] Picture rating plugin for Buddypress
Search on WP extend plugins directory shows https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery-voting/
In reply to: [Resolved] Picture rating plugin for BuddypressIt depends on which Gallery/Album/Media plugin you’re using, whether it be WP- or BP-compatible plugins. Some plugins have ratings added onto their media plugins, some don’t.
In reply to: Post countThere’s none that I am aware of that does this in group or sitewide forums. You’d either have to write the code yourself or hire a developer to do so.
In reply to: Remove Header From BP Registration page?@hindicell easiest way is to create specific header and footer (matching closing div) files for your register page. To do so:
1. Copy your theme’s header.php file and save copy as header-registerpage.php
2. Copy your theme’s footer.php file and save copy as footer-registerpage.php
3. Open up your theme’s registration/register.php file.
4. At the very top of the register file, change
get_header( 'buddypress' )
to
get_header( 'registerpage' )
5. At the very bottom of the register file, change
get_footer( 'buddypress' )
to
get_footer( 'registerpage' )
6. Adjust codes in your new files as needed. In reply to: No BuddyPress Admin Bar@willusername after you activate BuddyPress, you have to go through the Installation Wizard https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installation-wizard/
Complete the process first before installing/activating BP Template pack plugin for WP theme compatibility with BP.
Re no admin bar, check if your theme’s footer.php file has the
wp_footercall right before the closing body and html tagsWe are aware of the issue https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3727 Please create a new topic instead of adding onto 2-year-old threads. Closing this thread.
In reply to: Adding Terms of Service To RegistrationThere was a free one that hasn’t been updated for a while https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-xtra-signup/ but if you’d like to dive in and update the code yourself go ahead.
There’s a premium TOS plugin which is compatible with BP http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/terms-of-service/
In reply to: Sharing file in groupsThere’s a document sharing plugin for BP https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-docs/
And that’s about it except for Gallery/Album plugins
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too.In reply to: BP GTM System not comact with WordPress 3.5.I see that you’ve posted at the plugin’s forums at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-gtm-system and that’s the best place to post the issue.
Know that this is the holiday season so the possibility that the plugin will be updated within the next few days is low. If you’ve made a backup of your database and server files before you upgraded, I suggest reverting back to your old WP version install with those backups if you need GTM working.

Also restored about 60 pages which some troll had trashed.
That’s downright nasty.
Thanks Paul.Thanks. Codex will be back soon.
In reply to: Made Magazine Theme Compaility ErrorsGood screenshot. The “widget-like” you are referring to is the sidebar of the theme with what looks to be default widgets
I’ve already gone through step 3 on the BP Compatibility plugin
I see that the instructions of the theme page in Themeforest require you to activate BP template pack plugin “to get the fancy AJAX functionality”, but it didn’t say that you’d have to go through step 3 of the compatibility process — because when you do, the sidebar drops down below content.
You might need to re-upload the clean copy of your theme in server then just activate BP template pack without going through step 3 of the compatiblity process. If that doesn’t work, please contact the theme author for support and clearer instructions since the theme is supposed to be BUDDYPRESS-ready.
In reply to: Remove Widget Container/Box@sbla I see the empty boxes in the other BP pages I visited in your site along the empty boxes in the sidebar of your regular pages e.g. http://siliconbeachla.com/about/our-story/ This is a theme issue. Some solutions:
1) Open up your theme’s sidebar.php and make changes posted here http://pastebin.com/GyrrSgbg @emiluzelac ping!
and/or
2) You can also make the change in Step 3 of the BP compatiblity process. If you intended a full page layout for your BuddyPress pages, then open up the BP template files you made the original changes in and remove the line
in each.In reply to: Prev, Next Links in Category – BP Default Theme? What about the Prev/Next links exactly?
Cool. Marking this as resolved 🙂
In reply to: Merry Christmas buddypress forumMerry Christmas and a Prosperous, Happy New Year!
Peace.@sbla Copy over the “BuddyPress Component Finishing Styles” frpm https://codex.buddypress.org/legacy/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ then adjust to taste.
In reply to: Shortcuts for top menu? How can I hide this menu item for users who are logged in only as it does not show up in the menus under Appearance.
@voopress The code above shows the link only for logged in users. The link won’t show up if they’re not logged in. Why would you want to “hide this menu item for users who are logged in only”?
instead of hacking the php file
There’s no hacking being done here 🙂 You’re legitimately adding a filter to include the dynamic link to the menu. You can change the markup in the code posted just so those additional class/es would match those of the IfMenu’s. I’m not aware of any menu plugin which allows you to add a dynamic link.
but I know nothing about programming and can barely read HTML.
That could be a bit of a problem. If given an instruction like in this link (your theme will require a different instruction) http://wp.me/p1I84P-1l can you download folders from server via e.g. FTP and implement the changes as instructed?
In reply to: Made Magazine Theme Compaility ErrorsWhat do you mean by “widget-like”? Does the error show up on your sidebar/s? Could you be more explicit? Site URI?
In reply to: Permissions Error / Error con permisosand when I go to the setup menu plugin
Do you mean Appearance > Menu panel rather than setup menu plugin?

In reply to: [Resolved] threaded comments won't work after update@factorian Re the how to’s in applying the patch: if this is your first time to do anything like this, I would suggest that you implement it on a test installation and not a live site.
Go to https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/6326 the files you’d want to change are listed there. Add codes with green backgrounds and delete code in file with red backgrounds. Or, if you know how to use SVN (there are many online tutorials) then you can apply the patch to check if this works for you.
In reply to: Adding Extraa Profile Fields@hindicell as Ben mentioned above, go to Users > Profile Fields. You have the option of presenting the choices via Radio Buttons, Select Boxes or Multi Select Box
