In reply to: [Resolved] Third Party Themes Installation error
@dazunj It looks like the theme has not been upgraded to latest WP/BP versions. Please contact theme vendor about necessary theme upgrade. It is also possible that your theme upload was not complete, try re-uploading theme via FTP and check if issue is resolved.

The tutorial by @pcwriter was pretty much spot-on. Could be a theme or plugin conflict or might be that you missed a step or two in the tutorial. Have you posted in said article by being specific as to precisely where you hit the roadblock/s in the tutorial?
Is there a plugin that can I do this?
@tandyman You could use the Members plugin by Justin Tadlock https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members/ though you might have to configure the other customizations from pcwriter’s article.
In reply to: Group moderator are not able to edit, delete groupFor my part point 2 is not working at all. I mean as an admin I can do point 2 but as a moderator I can’t. ==> Edit, close, and delete any forum topic or post in the group
You should be able to do this as Group Mod. WP/BP versions? Have you done basic troubleshooting like changing to BP Default theme and deactivating other plugins except BuddyPress?
– I can’t access admin tab I am redirect to home group.
@laminedj – that’s where this all started and what the trac ticket (link above) is all about.
– Delete post is not present in group activity stream
Change to BP Default theme, the delete button/link is there for Group Mod in Activity Stream.
– I can’t ban users because I can’t access admin area
Group Mods cannot ban users, only Group Admins can do that. You can mark forum posts of such as Spam.
In reply to: stop user from creating forum@johnjf based on your topic, I assume this is in reference to bbPress plugin aka Sitewide Forums. If so, only the Super Admin or the Administrator can create Forums or Sub-Forums. If other users are doing so in your installation, you could have been hacked or could have set “Administrator” as default role of new users in your installation.
In reply to: Menu Tab Names Won't Change. How do I Change Them?In reply to: Help with Buddypress URLsYou need to look for the theme_location within the template file, not in the source code (inspect element).
In reply to: Group moderator are not able to edit, delete group@hnla 🙂 Different strokes for different folks. The GAdmin can always demote the GMod if the latter has been naughty not nice. I’m neutral here. Can live with or w/o that GMod capability.
In reply to: [Resolved] My Join Group button is acting funny@ubernaut bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress-functions.php is in trunk yes. But you could already apply the fix for bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php on this line https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.2/bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php#L115
In reply to: Group moderator are not able to edit, delete group@inkblot Thank you for posting your keen and thorough observations. The arguments you posted for removing that capability from the Group Moderator are valid. You should post your views and suggestions in the trac ticket. Please do feel free to do so.
Playing d-v-l’s advocate 🙂 I would say that before a Group Admin promotes a member to Group Moderator, the GAdmin either knows the member already and trusts him/her or has observed the performance of the member over a period of time and has deemed that the member is a mature, knowledgeable and a responsible person — someone who will not change the group name and description willy-nilly nor be wishy-washy about maintaining order in the forums.
Thanks again and have a happy new year!
In reply to: Multisite within a multisite?Check out https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-multi-network/ with https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/ You’d need to have a dedicated server and Jedi Knight coding skills to create and maintain this kind of installation.
In reply to: [Resolved] My Join Group button is acting funny@ubernaut did you apply the fix https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/6679 ?
Let me know and I can help test in your site.Am I reading that correctly that if a 3-column layout is selected, then WP is to use sidebar-2.php????
@latinoleader Yes, in addition to the default sidebar.php on the other side of the content.
Based on the initial scan of the Evolve Pro theme, you would need to change 17 template files from within the 6 BP folders transferred into your theme’s folder in server during the compatiblity process.
Please confirm which layout you want for ALL your BP templates – no sidebar, 2-columns or 3-columns? I would go for the 2-columns but it’s up to you. Let me know so we can get this going.
In reply to: Customizing the admin barTo keep the admin toolbar in place for everyone, all the time, go to Settings > BuddyPress > Settings page — Main Settings – Toolbar and leave the box unchecked. That’s it.
If you prefer to use code snippets, no problem. There are tutorials out there which have snippets for different kinds of admin toolbar customizations. Or, you can check out the plugin code and use portions which would apply in your case.
In reply to: Help with Buddypress URLs@akumaseijin you have to find the theme_location of your secondary custom menu. For example, in the Twenty Ten theme, the theme_location is ‘primary’ see https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_nav_menu#Used_in_the_Twenty_Ten_theme
After you find the theme_location of your secondary menu, replace mamamia in what I posted at http://pastebin.com/jFLsdDJG
In reply to: Customizing the admin barThere are a number of plugins in the WP plugin repo which could change what shows up in the admin toolbar. For BP-specific nav links, check out https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-custom-profile-menu/
In reply to: [Resolved] My Join Group button is acting funny@ubernaut just tested Windows7 and Safari and same behavior applies with the latest WP/BP versions. Please do the honor of posting trac ticket for this issue.
EDIT – DOING_AJAX https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4736
When I go to create a new page, in WP, these 3 templates are in the template drop-down menu, in the Page Attributes section. Is it safe to assume that these templates are what you’re looking for?
@latinoleader We’ll see. What I need to know is what the default page structure is like. Because whatever you choose in the dropdown menu (e.g. no-sidebar) for the Members Directory, might not be the same page automatically generated when you go to the individual member’s page (depends on what the default page layout is for the theme).
Create a regular page and do not choose any of the templates from dropdown menu, what layout shows up when the page is published? Please post the page URI from this demo http://demo.theme4press.com/evolve-pro/ for the default page layout.
In reply to: 2 home pages@faeronsayn you’d either have to code that yourself or hire a developer to do so.
In reply to: Buddypress & Continuum Theme…Help!!!@doncgarner as of the version I helped with, yes, you would have to add all that code to the BP template files. It all depends on the theme. Open up your theme’s page.php and you’ll see the amount of code added by the theme author to give you all the options added to the theme. Other WP themes required only 2 files for BP compatibility or just less code.
You could wait for BP 1.7 coming up https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/roadmap sometime next year where you do not need to change anything in your template files at all (unless you want to totally customize the BP pages further).
@faeronsayn You’re welcome. Glad the issue was resolved. Posting what error/s showed up will always help others help you 🙂 Cheers.
@faeronsayn your issues are related to your theme Mingle/Salutation. Google for the first part of your fatal error https://www.google.com/search?q=Call+to+undefined+function+vt_resize&ie=utf-8
Change to bp-default theme and see if the issue is resolved.
In reply to: before and after plugin for bpYou mean beyond an Album plugin?
In reply to: hide date and permalink from page – Status Theme@saukgp which page exactly? Are you referring to the single post page or archive page or elsewhere?
it dosent looks neat
Could you like to be more specific as to how “it doesn’t look neat”? Does it look messy in all browsers? Btw, which browser are you using?
