In reply to: Buddypress menu resizes automatically
I am just using BP’s default.css to make changes, and I dont see any of those lines in that file.
@shripad first, do not make your changes in BP’s default.css file as it would be overwritten when you upgrade your BuddyPress plugin. You should create a child theme of BP Default theme instead and just make the changes in your child theme’s stylesheet. Or use a WP theme and install the BP Template Pack plugin to make BP templates compatible with your theme. Or, wait for BP 1.7 where BP templates will automagically be included in your WP theme.
As for the responsive styles, they are not in default.css file but in the responsive.css file I linked to above. You’d find it in the same folder where default.css is located.
In reply to: [Resolved] After upgrade my group nav is not correctNo idea unless you give us more information about your installation.
WP/BP versions? Theme used? Does changing to BP Default theme correct the issue?
Plugins installed – including those in mu-plugins and/or codes in bp-custom.php? Did you add any custom code to manipulate group item- or sub-navigation?In reply to: Approval for Group by AdminThere’s a tutorial which covered this feature sometime back http://bp-tricks.com/coding/manage-group-creation-by-creating-a-group-request-form/
Check out the latest comment by the post author which has link to zip file compatible with BP 1.5+ and work from there.
In reply to: [Resolved] Error when upload avatarIs this a new installation? PHP version 5.3 or 5.4? Saw this once due to plugin conflict. Have you tried deactivating plugins except BuddyPress? What theme are you using?
Custom Community theme has been updated. You can download latest copy at https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community
In reply to: How to remove login/register form from BP Columns?Just delete the code of the login form from the sidebar.
In reply to: Block Blog from ActivityHow to Block a Blog or certain Blogs from appearing in Activity feed?
Please clarify, you don’t want some blog (posts) from showing up in activity feed like example.com/activity/feed or block content generated from some subsites from showing up in the activity stream -> example.com/activity/ or both?
In reply to: customize profile navigationsSo can i change activity and friends navigations like them ? I mean show them only to me.
Something’s getting lost in translation. You want to be able to edit the friends navigations or make those navigation links visible to you only hence not allowing them to send messages not change settings …?

In reply to: IE crashes on buddypress pagesWP 3.4.2 – Buddypress 1.6.2
BP 1.6.2 was released for compatibility with WP 3.5 and some bug fixes. Have you tried to upgrade to WP 3.5 (backup DB and server files first, of course)?
Which IE version? Have you checked your server error log Or asked webhost tech support about it?
Also, Custom Community theme has recently been upgraded https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community for WP 3.5/BP 1.6.2 compatibility. Have you upgraded the theme?
In reply to: IE crashes on buddypress pagesWhat exactly do you mean by IE crashing? White pages? What version of IE? WP/BP versions?
If you change to BP Default theme from Themekraft theme (which one?), is the issue corrected? In reply to: BuddyPress Issuehttp://irevuo.com/forums/ The sitewide forums are working
Deleted your duplicated post.
For courseware issues, please post in plugin’s forums https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/buddypress-courseware
Marking this topic re installing BuddyPress as resolved.
In reply to: Multisite Removal (BuddyPress on Network)@mairaj Yes, deactivate ALL plugins including BuddyPress. Btw, what are your WP/BP versions? How many subsites were created? By you or by members? Best time to do it is during your slow time. I usually post an announcement a day before I upgrade anything so members will be prepared for changes coming up. Depends on your relationship with your members.
Removing multisite won’t remove any member from DB. As mentioned above, backup DB and server files. If anything goes wrong, you can always revert back to your old DB.
In reply to: Multisite Removal (BuddyPress on Network)@mairaj the instructions in those threads are pretty much the same way I converted a multisite installation back to single WP. Just to add between the lines of instructions already given:
1. Backup Database and server files.
2. If you created a subsite or more and posted some content already, export XML of that subsite and then delete the subsite/s from Network Admin Sites.
3. Deactivate all plugins and change to Twenty Twelve theme.
4. Then open up wp-config.php and remove the multisite lines already posted in wpmututorials and other support threadsIn reply to: New to BuddyPressAs was mentioned above, errors can be due to a variety of issues. It can also be caused by error/s in configuring membership plugins as well. Check that your settings with s2member forum/tech support.
Users who registered before BuddyPress was activated have not been “recorded” by BuddyPress. They need to log in first after BP is activated to be included in member count. So that’s normal.
Change Browser and/or change to BP-Default theme and deactivate all other plugins except BuddyPress.
@zuhpiter what’s missing in the image above is the BUTTON link “Save and Next” on the same line and to the far right of = 1.Components 2.Pages 3.Permalinks 4.Theme 5. Finish
In reply to: [Resolved] Harmony Theme Compatibilty@slkmclaren deactivate BuddyPress, change to WP default theme and check if you can register a new user i.e., email is working. Depending on webhost, you might need to install a mail plugin. Best to start a new topic on this issue.
EDIT – If emails aren’t working if BP is activated, check out “BuddyPress isn’t sending out emails (eg. activation emails, email notifications)” section in this page https://codex.buddypress.org/user/faq/
In reply to: 8 hour delay on postsI’m in California and the time zone I am using is Los Angeles.
I recall a bug before. Instead of using Los Angeles, use utc -8 in setting (per http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=137 )

In reply to: New to BuddyPress@artshop there are a variety of reasons for permissions errors in WordPress and/or BuddyPress. Could be or not be related to fantastico, depends on When/Where are you experiencing such warnings/error and what’s in your error logs if any.
As for installing WP with fantastico, that might be fine for a simple default blog. But for WP installs where you intend to install BuddyPress and/or go multisite, then you’d be better off installing it manually which may take you a few minutes longer to install … but the trade-off is not going through hours/days of trouble-shooting later. In addition, unless fantastico or any other webhosting one-click WP install scripts have changed in using the same prefix (wp_ or wpdb2_ etc) for all the one-click tricks, your installation is not secure i.e., hackable. There are other reasons for not using one-click webhost scripts for production sites which you can search via google. Lastly, it is also a requirement for installing BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/user/before-installing/#system-and-server-requirements
In reply to: Stay on the same page after loginSomething like https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/login-with-ajax/screenshots/ or BP Default Theme’s sidebar login
In reply to: Buddypress menu resizes automaticallyThen you just have to override that in your child theme. BP Default’s responsive.css https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.2/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/responsive.css
See line 211 https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.2/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/responsive.css#L210 where it expands #nav li to 100% of containing div. If you’re going to remove or change that, you’d need to work on for the #nav li which is set at 46% of container on line #43 of same file.
