In reply to: Changing Page Templates
Did you install BP Template Pack plugin which is required to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress? Then did you go through Appearance > BP Compatibility process? In Step 3 of the process, that’s where you can change HTML structure of the BP template files transferred to your WP theme in server to be full width or any other layout configuration.
In reply to: [resolved] Suffusion theme comments, double postBuddyPress 1.5.6 ==> WP 3.4
== in default theme of buddypress is everything okay. ==
Therefore you should contact Suffusion theme author regarding this issue.In reply to: Plugin QuestionWordPress plugins which are supposed to be BuddyPress-ready are tagged “buddypress” by respective plugin developers – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/buddypress
Double-check if plugin’s been updated for latest versions of BP at leastTo make your WP theme compatible with BP, you need to install BP Template Pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP compatibility process then align HTML structure.
Yes, we are aware of the bug for the plugin’s pagination in this site.
In reply to: Changing Page TemplatesYou cannot change the pages associated with BuddyPress in Add New or Edit Post/Page panel – page template. You would have to change the HTML markup of the specific component’s template file. What theme are you using?
In reply to: [resolved] Suffusion theme comments, double postCould be a plugin conflict or theme issue.
WP/BP versions? Is this a new install or did you just upgrade to latest WP/BP? What theme are you using? What plugins do you have installed? Have you done any basic troubleshooting like changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?
In reply to: How to Add buddypress to wordpress ecommerce theme== i want to integrate buddypress with templatic theme ==
You need to install BP Template Pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP Compatibility process.
== But is it possible to add buddypress network as a wordpress page??i ==
BuddyPress is not a single Page proposition, The plugin contains components (like you see on home page https://buddypress.org/) rendered as Pages in a site. Check out http://testbp.org/
As I mentioned in instructions
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
… which includes all the 16 template files and more. Make revisions, Then upload the 6 BP folders with the revised files into your server wp-content/themes/chameleon.
In reply to: 1.6 beta – forums setup== So why does Settings-BuddyPress-Forums still have an install button ? ==
@shanebp I agree. Will you do the honors to raise this in trac?
== And do we really need a separate bbPress plugin for site-wide forums? ==
Yes

== I’ve assigned it to Discussion Forums in bp-settings – Pages ==
If you’re not going to use Group Forums, disable the component in BP 1.6beta1 in Settings > BuddyPress > Components – uncheck Discussion Forums and Save. You don’t need to assign Sitewide Forums Page in BuddyPress > Pages. Just add the Sitewide forums slug in the custom menu.
In Settings > Forums, if you’re using “Forums” as slug, then create a page named “Forums” then add the forums shortcode/s you prefer https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
In reply to: I’m not getting a register button or page.== no registration page and have membership enabled. ==
@labeshops You need to enable Registration in dashboard menu Settings > General== Also noticed I get errors trying to change the avatar – says there was an error cropping it, please try again.==
1. Trying to change the avatar –> you mean you were able to upload and crop avatar before?
2. Are you able to upload and crop images in Pages > Add New or Posts > Add New panel?
3. Is this a new installation or did you upgrade from previous versions of BP/WP?This has been brought up in the forums before. I recall some causes to pre-filled profile fields in registration page:
– plugin conflict with an SEO plugin and a captcha plugin – can’t recall specifically which ones but deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress, then activating plugins by batches of three helped them identify the culprit/s.
– theme conflict where theme added options for SEO and the like== This problem started after I installed pie-register, ==
Pie register is not compatible with BuddyPress.== before installing that plugin, users were redirected to homepage ==
Were you using a custom theme or a members-only or privacy plugin during that time?== but after I finish with deactivating procedure, where will I be able to check registration process? ==
Log out first. Then click on the link “Create an account” on the right sidebar of the default theme using a different email address.== That is what I meant when I said I installed all the components to make sure BP was compatible. ==
Just making sure what you’ve done so far.== I added one of pages BuddyPress created, “Forums” to my header. As you can see when you click on it, its blank. ==
Did you also install Group Forums and/or Sitewide Forums via BuddyPress > Forums? If you installed both, did you make sure the slug for Group Forums is not the same slug used for Sitwide Forums?Viewing source of your login form, you have third-party plugin which controls the registration in your site and is in all probability causing the conflict. In addition, you have some plugins which have not been updated for BP 1.5.
Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme. Then check if registration process is corrected.

B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
``
with the following for registration/register.php:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you’ve just revised to your server wp-content/themes/chameleon/
D. Copy the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste to your theme’s stylesheet. Adjust to taste.
@socialrocketship As mentioned above, based on the HTML structure of your theme, you need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your chameleon theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
``with the following:
``Save files.
In reply to: User profile Pick a premade Design/theme@artxx you can modify @sbrajesh plugin http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-custom-background-for-user-profile/ to choose from among different preset designs you upload and allow users to upload their own backgrounds
What Roger and Hugo said. To see the code in context, see how it’s done in bp-default theme’s single.php file –> https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.6/bp-themes/bp-default/single.php#L14
You’re welcome. Marking this as resolved.
In reply to: [Resolved] 1.5.6 to 1.6 b1In reply to: Page not found error and ReWrite is on . ugh..== Only superadmin gets a page not found problem.. ==
OK, that’s new. WP/BP versions?
Have you gone through basic troubleshooting by changing to bp-default theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress.In reply to: [Resolved] 1.5.6 to 1.6 b1I’m assuming since you didn’t mention it, that you have WP 3.4 running with BP 1.6 beta 1
.
Go to dashboard menu Settings > BuddyPress > Settings – Forums Settings – bbPress configuration, and make sure that you have the absolute path to your bbPress configuration file there ( for group forums located at root of your WP installation).There’s a plugin, https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/achievements/ for BuddyPress
1. Blank pages -> https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/
2. Not quite sure if BP works with Thesis, since I heard of some issues before…
In any case, did you install BP Template Pack plugin and run Appearance > BP Compatibility to go through the process?3. What do you mean by “I downloaded and installed all the components to make sure BuddyPress is compatible”? You mean the BP Template Pack plugin or other Thesis-only plugins for BuddyPress (if any)?.
No. That is not even a WordPress installation much less running on PHP.
It’s ASP.NET framework.
