== ‘The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activity Streams, Discussion Forums, User Groups, Members, Activate, Register. (REPAIR)’. ==
@rbrtah Your issue is different. The message means that you haven’t gone through the Installation Wizard. Click on (Repair) or go to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages and associate the BuddyPress components with respective pages.
In reply to: Cant update user profile== the issue was there before the upgrade, which I hoped was going to fix the problem ==
The issue, not being able to update user profile, was fixed in BP 1.5. So I would change to Twenty Eleven,deactivate all plugins and delete BuddyPress. Upload BuddyPress via FTPto wp-content/plugins/buddypress, activate BP and activate bp-default theme. Also, you did go through the BP Installation Wizard when you upgraded from BP 1.2.9 to BP 1.5.5 right?
In reply to: Getting Started…@rbrtah there were many issues by OP. Is same error about setting Group and/or Sitewide Forums? If so, check https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: the “support forums” sidebar widgetIn reply to: Cant update user profile@fallingup first, I can empathize on the FTP access only :-s
Which BP Chat plugin are you using? If it doesn’t explicity note that it’s been updated for BP 1.5+/WP3.3+ then I suggest you deactivate it and check if issue is resolved. If not, deactivate BP plugins except BuddyPress and check.
In reply to: Default Sign-up Fields Pre Filled in with JunkI remember someone brought up the same issue before in BP forums and it was because of the plugin conflict, something with prefilled or automatic SEO keywords and the like. To be sure, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and check if issue is resolved. Then activate plugins a batch at a time and check registration page
In reply to: Search for Forum area?@abray we are aware of the search issue, sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you can use Google buddypress.org + keywords/phrases.
== custom groups template from my theme is not loaded anymore ==
@struppolo If you have a backup of the groups template in your computer, then just upload to your theme’s folder in server via FTP/FileManager/cPanel, etc.
You install the plugins in your WP installation via dashboard menu Plugins > Add New –
Respective plugin’s installation/notes/faqs/support are all in the links I gave above@nickharambee Remove the BP Component Pages you want to make private from the custom menu https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/
Add the following to your theme’s or child theme’s functions.php file
add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'mme_loggedin_only_links' ); function mme_loggedin_only_links($items) { if (!is_user_logged_in()) return $items; else $ouractivity = '<li><a href="' . home_url('/') . 'activity' . '">' . __('Activity', 'buddypress' ) . '</a></li>'; $ourmembers = '<li><a href="' . home_url('/') . 'members' . '">' . __('Members', 'buddypress' ) . '</a></li>'; $ourgroups = '<li><a href="' . home_url('/') . 'groups' . '">' . __('Groups', 'buddypress' ) . '</a></li>'; $ourgroupforums = '<li><a href="' . home_url('/') . 'forums' . '">' . __('Forums', 'buddypress' ) . '</a></li>'; $items = $items . $ouractivity; $items = $items . $ourmembers; $items = $items . $ourgroups; $items = $items . $ourgroupforums; return $items; }Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme to begin isolating what’s causing the strange behavior.
In reply to: [Resolved] No ”create a group” buttonAssuming you’ve not disabled groups, the easy way is via url http://yoursitedomain.com/groups/create
Also, users can also go to the Groups Directory to page and click on the link/button beside the “Groups Directory” title
In reply to: out of the box themePlease post only once for the same issue. Closing this duplicate of https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypress-theme-looks-diff-help/
In reply to: buddypress theme looks diff??? helpNot clear what you mean by “in instant WP”? What theme are you using? Screenshot or site url so we could see what’s going on.
In reply to: BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOGWhere is WP installed, in domain root, subdomain or subfolder. Is your multisite subdomain or subdirectory structure?
Site url? Have you tried changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?
In reply to: [Resolved] Problem with site wide forums@nickharambee since you have group forums at http://www.yoursite.com/forums/ , to avoid conflict between the group and sitewide forums, need to have a different slug for your sitewide forums, e.g. discussions so the sitewide forums will be at http://www.yoursite.com/discussions/
Ref -> https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/3/#group-sitewide-forums== I am running a buddypress site consisting of hidden groups only. ==
1st, remove the Groups tab from your custom menu. We will add the link to respective group per member.
2nd, add this to your theme’s functions.php file
add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'mme_my_hidden_groups' ); function mme_my_hidden_groups($items) { if (!is_user_logged_in()) return $items; else $hiddengroups = '<li><a href="' . bp_loggedin_user_domain('/') . 'groups' . '">' . __('My Groups') . '</a></li>'; $items = $items . $hiddengroups; return $items; }The “My Groups” link will appear at the end of the custom menu and will show up for logged in users only.
In reply to: Building a website like www.buddypress.org@matthew29 all are custom-coded specially for BuddyPress.org
You’d either have to create the plugins or hire a developer to do so.@creaminta You have Joomla in your main site (plus uri’s there ends with .html) and WP/BP in a physical subdomain http://training.zbrushworkshops.com/members/admin/ which is a single WP installation.
If you do not plan to make your WP at root of http://training.zbrushworkshops.com/ a multisite installation, then don’t add `define( ‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true );` in your wp-config.php

In reply to: Site Activity?@timetraveler we are aware of the search issue. In the meantime you can use google: buddypress.org keywords phrases and/or username (if applicable)
As for site activity – make sure you have /activity/index.php in your active theme’s folder. Change to bp-default theme and go to yoursite.com/activity (assuming you didn’t change the slug) and check if issue is resolved..
In reply to: Custom post Types in Activity StreamIn reply to: BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG@luisrosario If you have enabled BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG, you will need to ensure that each active theme on your installation is BuddyPress-enabled
In reply to: Multiple BP Sites one user database? Possible@michaeljdornan There are two plugins for multiple BP sites in one WPMultisite installation
1. BP MultiNetwork – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/ which requires WP MultiNetwork or Networks+
2. BuddyPress Multi-Network – http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddypress-multi-network-plugin-create-multiple-separate-social-networks-on-a-single-buddypress-install/ which you can use with Join Blog Widget plugin which you’ll find in the same site.
