How are the members of the public group publishing their posts – per Group Blogs on WP multisite or via Blog Categories for Groups on single WP?
In reply to: Check if Member is logged in. (entry.php)== looking to see if other people are online. ==
check out https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.5/bp-core/bp-core-widgets.php#L162In reply to: User does not show up in Members listpls provide more info about your install – current wp/bp versions? what theme used? multisite? bp multinetwork? do you have stealth mode plugin or bp ninja plugin activated or membership plugin activated?
In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ Button@djwinner Yes, you should hit up the theme author. You paid for a theme that’s supposed to be compatible with BP 1.5.5 per documentation, you deserve a theme which have all parts working.
In reply to: Fix Buddypress Template for my theme – Insignia@neodjandre at first glance, it looks like the layout you have for the groups directory page you linked to above is the default layout you get right after BP compatibility … except that the member’s profile page has the sidebar below the content. The only hitch with that layout is that you have duplicate div#content in the HTML (one from your theme and the other from the BP template file) but that’s livable. Or did you already tweak the layout of the group directory page?
In reply to: Restrict Privacy Options (Group Settings)If you have a child theme of bp-default theme, the simple way would be to copy over:
a) https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.4/bp-themes/bp-default/groups/create.php
to wp-content/themes/YourChildThemeFolder/groups/create.php
– above line 90 per linked file add “
– below line 106 per linked file add “b) https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.4/bp-themes/bp-default/groups/single/admin.php
to wp-content/themes/YourChildThemeFolder/groups/single/admin.php
– above line 69 per linked file add “
– below line 87 per linked file add “Note that if you as Site/Super Admin don’t even want to create a hidden or private group yourself, then delete lines 90-106 from create.php and delete lines 69-87 from admin.php
In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ ButtonLooks more like AJAX issue.
In reply to: [Resolved] Page Links no longer working== I re-installed wordpress which fixed the issue. ==
Glad you thought of it and that it was just a simple fix. Now if every issue brought here could simply be resolved with WP reinstall as well
In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ ButtonOpen up your custom BP theme’s /activity/entry.php file, copy all, post to pastebin.com and paste the generated pastebin.com url here. I want to see if it’s the same issue as the other theme I saw. If not, then it’s up to the theme author to resolve this.
In reply to: [Resolved] Page Links no longer working– What have you changed or added or imported recently? Deactivate it/them.
– Go to Appearance > Menus and check navigation you set up has the correct information.
– Go to Settings > Permalinks and re-save option you had set before and see if issue is corrected.
– Check .htaccess file to see if anything’s changed from previous file.In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ Button== This theme is different and the author, while usually very responsive has gone black ==
We are not mind readers here. Please either name the theme or give site uri, and we’ll let you know if we can help you.In reply to: Reply/Commenting in forums not workingThere was a report here about a security plugin interfering with forum replies. If you don’t have one, deactivate plugins except BuddyPress and see if issue is resolved. Then activate plugins one by one to see which one is messing up with commenting.
In reply to: How to fix BP-admin bar width and characteristics@edgarestradac you would add that to your theme’s stylesheet aka style.css file.
In reply to: [Resolved] Forum Replies get failure message@energynet thank you for bringing this to our attention and for sharing the solution. Cheers

It will show the blog and forum posts in the activity stream but it will “disable commenting on blog and forum posts” in the activity stream. This was set up so that the comments to blog and forum posts will be posted in the respective blog and forum posts.
In reply to: Auto remove activate/registerCheck if your theme has a custom menu where you can choose to add only the pages you want in your main navigation. Most themes with custom menu default to wp_page_menu which lists all available pages whether you want it or not.
rename wp-content/themes/custom-community to wp-content/themes/custom-community-xxx via FTP/cpanel and if that doesn’t work, rename wp-content/plugins/buddypress to wp-content/plugins/buddypress-xxx
In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ ButtonI saw this happen with a theme submitted to the WP theme repo. If it’s the same theme, the theme author would have the solution by now.
You have a custom theme that’s supposed to be BuddyPress-ready. I would contact theme author regarding this issue. To confirm if it is a theme issue, change to bp-default theme, clear cache and see if issue is corrected.
In reply to: buddypress multisite with categories blogs???@sienteastu best place to ask categories/taxonomies/classifications for subsites would be at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
@indieconnect surround code with backticks ( ` ) the symbol between the parentheses, not apostrophes
In reply to: BuddyPress dropdown menu is not working properly.== one of the links in the dropdown menu at the top of the page ==
What browser are you using?== using the buddypress 2011 theme as well. ==
Which BuddyPress 2011 theme? theme URI? Does the same behavior apply when you change to bp-default theme?Yes, that’s the way it’s supposed to look for a default install. As for the message, you can disregard/ignore that for the meantime – that would be resolved in next bbPress version.
In reply to: [Resolved] comment and reply not working now@bensonsearch thanks for posting the conflict with FBChat and commenting with BP. Have you checked out the other chat plugins at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/chat
