In reply to: Significant Buddypress Video Embedding Problem@misc86 yup, looks like you’ve fixed the hack, changed your theme and the youtube link now goes to correct url. Way to go
In reply to: Can’t get BuddyPress pages to display properly== or sometimes overlapping ==
That is a design issue that was not caused by BuddyPress.== the side bar on my BP created pages is pushed down ==
Not sure how extensive your modifications were. But if you did not make major HTML restructuring, check out how we made a simple Twenty Eleven child theme compatible with BuddyPress here https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-eleven-bp-1-5/In reply to: Significant Buddypress Video Embedding ProblemIt’s most probably caused by the hack which should be taken seriously. If you prefer, get a second opinion by posting at the WP forums and ask if you’ve been hacked https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting Know that I prefer to be wrong about the hack, but it’s there.
In reply to: Spacing issue on all BP pagesSorry I wasn’t clear. Near the bottom of the webpage I linked to above, is the link to the solution/instructions. Here’s the link to fixing the alignment of the BP template pack with the premium iFeature https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddy-press-on-other-themes/

== it “remembers” the unwanted changes i first did and now i want to disappear. ==
– What unwanted changes?
– Do you have a bp-custom.php file in your plugins directory? Did you back up and delete that?
– Do you have bb-config.php file in the root of your WP installation (where you’ll find the wp-config.php file)? Did you also backup and delete that as well?See the xx_bb_xx (BP group forums) and xx_bp_xx (
) in single and WP multisite DB’s at the bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/3/
– backup your database and delete tables@capnmarrrrk please clarify your site’s structure.
– You have no site at domain root, webfactional.com
– I see WP installed at micro.webfactional.com with Site Title, “My Site”, and this is a multisite installation
– I see another and separate WP site installed in subdirectory of micro.webfactional.com at http://micro.webfactional.com/sydney/ with Site Title, “My Blog” and the link would go to micro.webfactional.com, that’s expected
– Do you have a page named sydney at micro.webfactional.com?In reply to: Significant Buddypress Video Embedding ProblemRe video on http://frankyuyan.com/the-blenz-coffee-guy-on-success-his-inspiring-speech
– Why is there an iframe of your site at the end of the post under “Here is the video:”?
– To post a video, you only need to paste the link like so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBGF_j7S4I and it will show up.
– Then, if you still want to add a text link to your video,: type the text, highlight it and click on the link icon and add the link to the video in pop-up box. Save/Update.In reply to: Spacing issue on all BP pagesThere are two iFeature themes – one free (WP Theme Repo) and the other premium (Other WP Themes) – I’ve helped out in this area. Look at the bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/ for the link to the theme you’re making compatible with BP
In reply to: BuddyPress, Multisite, and bbPress Confusion== So is site wide forums installed or is this a bug? How do I uninstall site wide forums? ==
The site wide forums is your bbPress plugin installation. They are one and the same.
== I thought site wide forums would allow my main site to have forums, is this assumption incorrect? Do I need to install bbPress on my main site? ==
If you have BuddyPress installed in main site, you just need to add the link to your bbPress plugin page to your menu. Did you already configure your bbPress plugin forum slug?
Please read this Codex article about the two kinds of bbPress forums we can choose use with BuddyPress and how to install one or both forums. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
When you use both Group Forums and Sitewide Forums, only one of them can use “forums” as slug/page-name, the other must use a different page name/slug. Read https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What browser and in what device – computer (PC or Mac), ipad or tablet, mobile phone (what brand)?

In reply to: Does Activity filtering take an Act Of Congress?@shawn38 Remember that BuddyPress is FREE software. When you make a request for help here, no-one is being paid to help, or answer you. You are entitled to use the software but you have no right to demand immediate assistance nor get cranky if you do not get it.
Being polite is extremely important, especially to those who do help here. Hitting core developers with negative remarks or bumping your topic is not kosher. Avatars are registered online when we’re logged in the anywhere else in the site aside from the forums.

In reply to: Text under comment box on BuddyPress Default theme@words2us strikethrough the text did give the impression that you wanted to delete the HTML tags. If you want to change the text, add the following instead to your theme’s functions.php file
`add_filter( ‘comment_form_defaults’, ‘mme_change_default_html’);
function mme_change_default_html ( $default ) {
$default = ‘Check out BuddyPress.
‘;
return $default;
}`Thanks for posting about the plugin conflict.
Yes, it saves time to make sure that the plugins you install are compatible with the latest WP/BP versions.
