WP/BP versions? Is this an old upgraded installation or a new installation? Have you tried basic troubleshooting like changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPres to see if issue is corrected?
In reply to: Forum Help>>> Right now I only have 2 groups, as the site grows users will be able to create their own groups and have a forum. The 2 groups I have is one for all users (I don’t want a forum for this group), and the second group is just for businesses that join the site. The business member group has a forum that I am only making visible to the business members.
If you do not want a group to have a forum, then do not enable the group’s forums in that groups admin page.
If you want to make the forum visible to only the business members group, then make that group a Private Group or a Hidden Group.
>>> … the forums page is showing.
Not clear whether you’re referring to the group forum or the sitewide forums page.
>>> How can I set the forums page to be the sitewide forums? I have the custom link in the navigation bar and that is fine.
Not clear. Do you mean that you want to use the “forums” slug for your sitewide forums?
>>> But in the community widget, there is a link for forums and I do not want that because it just takes you to an empty forum and I do not want them to use that for their reviews. Ideally I would love for that to go to the review forum. Hope this makes sense.
Not clear. Which community widget? What theme are you using?
In reply to: [Resolved] Urgent Internet Explorer IssueWordPress and BuddyPress versions? Internet Explorer version?
Is this a new installation? Single WP or Multisite?
Did you change theme and/or plugins recently?
Have you tried basic troubleshooting – changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress then clearing cache to see if issue is corrected?
In reply to: Configuration theme@igid26 Please post the code for sidebar.php and page.php as well.
You need to make your theme duotive compatible with BuddyPress by installing and activating the BP Template Pack plugin. Then proceed to dashboard menu Appearance > BP Compatibility and go through the compatibility process. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
In reply to: [resolved] Changing ”Groups” to ”Teams”https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/
1. Add following to bp-custom.php file (create one if you don’t have one)
`define ( ‘BP_GROUPS_SLUG’, ‘teams’ );`2. Create a new Page named Teams
3. Go to BuddyPress > Pages and associate Groups with the page Teams

In reply to: Restrict comment depthAre you referring to comments in Activity Streams or comments in blog posts?
The fix is scheduled for release in BP 1.6 version.
You have the option to make the edit manually in your BP 1.5.4’s buddypress/bp-blogs/bp-blogs-functions.php file as seen here https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/5562 if you know how to make that change. You’d have to make the change again if BP comes out with another version update before BP 1.6
In reply to: Buddypress with WPZoom Theme Layout IssuesLooking over your theme, you will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your telegraph theme in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
EDIT – changes posted at http://pastebin.com/B3uV54fE

jQuery(document).ready( function() {

C. Save files. Upload 6 BP folders to your server wp-content/themes/weaver/

Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive. The changes we’ll be making are using the default layout (right sidebar) for the weaver theme. If you need to get the dynamic layout version, please contact the weaver theme author for assistance and point him to this post.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
``with
`<div id="post-” class=”post hentry”>`In reply to: Buddypress with WPZoom Theme Layout Issues@wolverinept Open up telegraph theme’s header.php, copy all, post code in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated pastebin uri here. Do the same for index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php. We’ll see from there.
Copy over header.php from bp-default theme to your child theme folder and delete lines 29 thru 39
If you still want to go the CSS route, use `#header #search-form { display: none; }`
In reply to: [Resolved] Weaver theme and BuddyPress alignment@dsg257 just confirming it’s the free version. Will take a look at it now.
EDIT- By the way, you’re using the default layout right (sidebar on the right)? I recall that it had other layout options when I was reviewing the theme. In reply to: Gallery Styled Options For BuddypressSounds like a good idea for a new child theme
In reply to: bbPress pluginYou’re welcome @netweblogic … I see you’ve commented on the trac ticket already
In reply to: Who Makes Decisions around here?@uloga surprised at your a la troll rant here. You have been positive iin these forums before. Didn’t know that changing avatar from unicorn to che guevarra causes change in behavior as well.
You know you don’t have to use BuddyPress. You also know that BP code has considerably improved since it was first released ( https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/ ) and that bp-default theme had those functions more or less even way back then.
BuddyPress is fortunate to have @johnjamesjacoby as Lead Dev with Core Devs @djpaul and @boonebgorges on the case.
Lambasting others for your frustration in updating your client site is not constructive at all. The unicorn should return.
Change to bp-default theme, clear cache and see issue resolved. If so, please contact canvas theme developers regarding this matter.

You can safely delete each Group you’ve created in each Group’s admin settings.
You can uninstall the Forums for groups in dashboard menu BuddyPress > Forums > uninstall group forums.
You can uninstall Sitewide Forums in dashboard menu BuddyPress > Forums > uninstall sitewide forums.
Then, go to BuddyPress > Components > remove checks for User Groups and Discussion Forums2) Re: if you look at my site http://www.sweepbook.com/rate-this/ you will notice the menu items are on top of each other
– I don’t see that in your site. So it’s either you’ve changed the theme to bp-default theme or you’ve decided to use bp-default’s custom menus to organize your links.
3) Re: The logos on my site, redirects to http://www.sweepbook.com/rate-this
– Right now I see that you have HTML pages at domain root http://www.sweepbook.com/
So where did you install WP/BP, in subdirectory rate-this?and the redirect is to
redirect is to http://www.sweepbook.com/sweepbook/rate-this/ .
WP Settings > General > Site Address URI/WordPress Address URI was changed without proper checks and this is not a BuddyPress issue at all.https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL and if that doesn’t help you resolve the problem, please post at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

2. Current BuddyPress version uses own version of bbPress plugin for Group Forums and at the same time, can use bbPress plugin for Sitewide Forums. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
3. In upcoming BuddyPress 1.6, Group Forums will be refactored to use bbPress plugin https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3598
