In reply to: Got problems and questions…
#1 and #2 I suggest you contact Headway theme devs/support as they know their complicated theme inside and out. Although I’m sure they know it by now, you can refer them to the BP Template Pack compatibility process – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
#3 – https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ Though again, something you should bring over to Headway theme devs/support.
== On my dashboard and changed the wordpress adress url to wordpress.org ==
This is a WordPress issue now. You’d have to dive into your database to fix this
https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database
Note for #12= In the input box for option_value, carefully change the URL information to the new (CORRECT) address.Deactivate BP Ajax Chat and check if behavior is corrected. At least 15 reported that chat is not working with current BP version.

In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work.Re: Theme
Try Trending by Justin Tadlock multiple nav menus https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/trending
Recommend building and activating a child theme of Trending then with the child theme activated, install and activate the BP Template Pack and go through the compatibility process.Re: Can’t get to Support page
Go to admin dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages > Directories – Discussion Forums and select -None- and click on Save button. Then run Settings > Permalinks to the year/month setting I set up earlier. In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work. Please do not post test username and password with admin privileges in this forum. I’ve deleted the information. Delete the user you created.
Graphene is a nice theme but spout out too many errors – from creating the sitewide forums index page where it required post thumbnails etc. to adding the page to main navigation where it included the shortcode used to generate the forum index page.
The sitewide forums is functioning http://www.meetinbradford.org/support/ using the bp-default theme.
Reminder: Do not click on Repair button in – “The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Discussion Forums”.You’re welcome
In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work.Site URL? Test user’s username and password?
– First deactivate Custom Community theme and change to Twenty Eleven theme.
– Install and activate BuddyPress. Change to bp-default theme and see everything is in working order.
– Custom Community has the latest version 1.8.8 you can download at github https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community/blob/master/style.css. Upload this latest version and activate.
In reply to: Join groups while registeringRewind then.
– Not out of the box. There’s no plugin that does exactly what you want. The Welcome Pack is a good start to invite people to join groups.
– BP Group Hierarchy doesn’t do that on the registration page.
In reply to: This website – Forums – My activityI understand your concern. Apologies for the inconvenience.
In the meantime Google is our friend. Google e.g “buddypress.org sooskriszta forums – my activity” and this page is already indexed. You can bump your topic if unanswered after 24 hours. In reply to: PLZ HELP! (edit profile missing)Not BuddyPress because the profile edit page is in the bp-default theme as I linked to above in my first post. Just strange, because it’s working in my installations and at BuddyPress demo site at http://testbp.org/
What I would do if that happened to me is
– Deactivate All plugins and change to Twenty Eleven theme
– Re-upload BuddyPress plugin manually i.e. via FTP/cpanel/etc.
– Activate BuddyPress plugin only
– Activate bp-default theme
– Cross fingers that Profile > Edit page will show up.In reply to: This website – Forums – My activityThank you. We know. The issues will be addressed when possible.
To see test site of BuddyPress, go to http://testbp.orgIn reply to: Associated items – documentationIn reply to: Join groups while registeringhttps://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/welcome-pack/ doesn’t have collapsible tree but a very good start.
In reply to: [Plugin: BP Better Directories] Has anyone used it?Please read instructions for BP Better Directories:
“WARNING! This plugin may not scale well! Don’t use without decent object caching. WARNING! This plugin is not ready to be used on a production site!”Advanced search = http://buddydev.com/buddypress/creating-the-sitewide-globalunified-search-page-for-your-buddypress-theme/ do read comments as well
In reply to: Problems with activity page and group pageChange to bp-default theme and you’ll see all the Pages generated so far. Use custom menu feature and choose which links you want to be there in main navigation. https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/
In reply to: Custom text stringsYou need to create a child theme of the bp-default theme. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
Then follow the instructions here https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/ as @aces mentioned above
@ssoskriszta – just to note that you’ve got a better chance of being helped over at WP.org forums for that specific plugin – https://wordpress.org/tags/bwp-recaptcha
In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work.Missed this instruction:
Go to admin dashboard menu Settings > Forums > Archive Slugs > Forums base — should be the slug you used for your forums page, supportIn reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work.Btw, @junglejinge re your graphene theme layout – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/where-are-my-sub-menus/
In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work. You have two pages titled “Support” in your site – Support with slug Discuss and Support page with support slug – the first one a left-over from previous need to have both group and sitewide forums.
– Delete the first one, Support page with slug Discuss, then go to Trash and Delete Permanently that page.
– The title of the Page should equal name of slug. So open up the Support Page that you kept and make sure the slug below it is also support.
– Now go to admin dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages > Directories – Discussion Forums, select the page Support and click on Save button on same line.
– Go to admin dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and re-run it once again for good measure.
Note: if you want to rename the page to “Discussions”, don’t forget to change the slug to discussions as well, and go to BuddyPress > Pages to select the page Discussions from the dropdown.
In reply to: Create Multiple Group PagesIn reply to: registration page set up problemYou have to contact BP for Suffusion plugin and theme author about that. If you deactivate the Suffusion plugin and theme then change to bp-default theme, you’ll probably find that the issue is corrected.
@candy2012 deactivate ALL plugins by renaming wp-content/plugins to wp-content/plugins-xx in server. Go to wp-admin. Rename back to correct folder name after you get in.
