@overlander – I see that you have wp-symposium installed. Please forward your queries to their forums http://www.wpsymposium.com/discuss/
In reply to: [resolved] BP Compatible themeJust checked it out. Congratulations!
In reply to: Two issues possibly relatedWhat theme are you using? Change to bp-default theme and see if issue is corrected. Could very well be that your theme needs to be updated for BP 1.5.1
In reply to: Limit the number of group a member can joinIn reply to: PLZ HELP! (edit profile missing)Have you checked out theme authors’ forums http://themekraft.com/forums/ or updates as they usually post the latest updated Custom Community theme at github https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community before it’s released at WordPress.org themes page
In reply to: Can I create more than one forum? Then install bbPress the plugin (sitewide forums) https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ and have group forums as well.
== I would like to have the option of each forum in the menu. ==
Do you mean the main menu? Then use custom menu and add the link/s to respective forums.@OHAAT first, bbPress the plugin is no longer in beta, it is now stable version 2.0.2. The topic above was 4 months 2 weeks ago.
To totally uninstall the forum for groups, backup DB and the bb-config.php that was created at root of your WP install. Then delete that bb-config.php at root. For more info about installing sitewide forums (bbPress plugin) check out https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
To clarify, your upgrade is from BP 1.5 to 1.5.1 or BP 1.2.+ to BP 1.5.1?
== Does it mean that the problem is with my framework? ==
If you’re coming from BP 1.2+ to BP 1.5.1, it’s with the updated BP Template files in 6 folders which should have been transferred to your Platform theme folder, plus that you went through the installation wizard
If you’re coming from BP 1.5 to BP 1.5.1 check via admin menu BuddyPress > Pages that your Member page is associated with Page titled Members in select box. Check also that the slug is the same as the title of the page. e.g. page title = Members and slug = members not members-2 or members-3
EDIT 1 – took too long to answer. didn’t see your post @aces

EDIT 2 – Also, if you updated your Platform theme, the update might have deleted the BP template folders from your WP theme so reupload activity, blogs, forums, groups, members and registration from bp-default theme to your WP theme folder in server.
== After the latest upgrade ==

== I’m so fed up with buddypress. Can’t even set up this “award winning plugin ==
It is unfortunate that you’re having a hard time setting up BP. Have you checked out server requirements and other installation guides at BuddyPress Codex. For example:
1. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-server
2. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/setting-up-a-new-installation/buddypress-1-5-installation-wizard/

If you’re using theme other than bp-default or bp-default child theme, then check if you have this file in your theme https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.1/bp-themes/bp-default/members/single/profile/edit.php
In reply to: Group ModsIn reply to: Unable to post new group forum topicFrom your post here, go to admin dashboard menu BuddyPress > Forums > Forums for Groups – click on Use existing installation. In next panel, confirm location of your bb-config.php
In reply to: no new members can join buddy press== Even with my wordpress.org account I get the same error ==
You use the same username and password to log into WordPress.org and BuddyPress.org, among others. Since you were able to log in and post here, you should be able to log in and post in WordPress.org forums with same username and password. If you still cannot do so, go to http://lists.automattic.com/mailman/listinfo/wp-forums
In reply to: Edit profile link leads to ‘page not found’ error?!?@primitivpatriot re: http://www.trendkilleronline.com/members-3/TonyIsaza/profile/edit/group/1
Component page title should have the same slug i.e. “Members” page should be /members/ not /members-3/ So go to admin menu Pages > All Pages and delete pages titled “Members” then go to “Trash” and select pages titled Members and select “Delete Permanenently”
Now go to create a new Page titled Members and publish. Double-check page slug is /members/
Go to menu BuddyPress > Pages and associate Members component with the new Members page you created.
Change to bp-default theme and check that everything’s in order. In reply to: Unable to post new group forum topic@stjack you mean you had the same plugins, same theme and same BP/WP versions and configuration before you moved to new server with same or better configuration? Then something could have been lost in the migration to new server – import of database or incomplete theme file uploads to server. Have you also tried changing to bp-default theme and check if behavior is corrected?
In reply to: Pages not found.htaccess may not be visible via FTP program unless you enable showing of “hidden” files. Morever, to double-check if you have one, go to webhost server’s cpanel/File Manager.
.htaccess file for single WP installs – https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Creating_and_editing_.28.htaccess.29
But going back to your original post, did you go through the Installation Wizard? If you did, have you checked admin menu > BuddyPress > Pages and check that all components are assigned Pages already?
== another theme(travel blogger 1.3.5) i dont see the post button for activities to be updated. also with this theme , bp reports only 4 registered members instead of 10 ==
@onyekat I will assume you’re using this Travel Blogger theme https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/travel-blogger
Just activated the theme in my test install and I see the “Post” button in activity stream (plus all other buttons) and the correct number of members are showing up. But there is a problem I saw so far: although one can post status update in activity stream but comments/replies on an activity stream posts lead to 404 error page. There’s JS conflict between Travel Blogger and BP.
You’re welcome
In reply to: bbPress version and updating@johnnywallah see the difference between internal bbPress (group forums) and the bbPress plugin (sitewide forums) https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: Pages not found@philie go to admin dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and set to other than the default permalink.
In reply to: How to make BuddyPress pages full widthBefore answering the full-width question, how did you approach Step 3 of the BP compatibility process, i.e. HTML structure? Two different methods (change 16 files OR the header-buddypress.php, etc methods) in the compatibility process == different methods to resolve issue and get full-width HTML structure afterwards.
In reply to: [resolved] BP Compatible theme@bluesalman got the message from Salman. Checked it and the issue on the buttons I remember was caused by the “`display: block`” in your WP theme’s style for `button` and `a.bp-primary-action span, #reply-title small a span`. Just checked your site a few minutes ago and the URL you gave is now a blank page.
In reply to: Cant get 1.5 site wide forum to work.Back up your database and the bb-config.php file in root of your WP install.
Then delete bb-config.php
