In reply to: Fatal Frustration== Sorry guys i have to do this, this is simply to much so here is my bash. ==
I feel for you. Here are some gentle reminders:
1. Always backup your server files and database regularly and before upgrading. That way, you can revert back to working model if something “bad” happens.
2. BP has not released any BP 1.3 beta version yet. You got a trunk version which as you should know is not a stable version.
3. If BP does release beta version, do not use it on live sites. This is for testing purposes.
4. Even premium software is not perfect.
5. The last time you posted here on BP.org forums was nine months ago. If your question has not been answered within 24 hours, you are allowed to bump your post.
I sincerely wish you made a backup of your site before you installed BP trunk and hope that you can revert to working version of your site.
In reply to: Getting Rid Of The Top Admin Bar Once And For All…Did you add that to your wp-config.php file at root?

In reply to: administrate private or any group? In reply to: All Buddypress Pages Redirect to Members Page== Everything in the forums, activity and groups folders is working fine. Anything functionality that points to the members folder redirects to the Members Directory. ==
Your http://sitename.com/BPfolder/ doesn’t happen to be actually http://sitename.com/members/ ? There’s a BP bug when you install BP in a directory with same name as one of its components, in this case members.
In reply to: All Buddypress Pages Redirect to Members PageBP/WP versions? Was your WP working well before you installed BP?
Check your htaccess and wp-config.php files with info here – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypress-on-a-sub-directory-installed-wp-291/#post-36047
In reply to: Create group only by admin@cnorris23 Thank you. Cool. Saw it in dashboard running BP trunk – WP 3.2 beta 1
In reply to: All Buddypress Pages Redirect to Members Page@jml1618 just to clarify, is your WP installed like this https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory (because this set up won’t work with BP) or is your WP/BP installed in a normal subdirectory?

Of course you’re right, DJPaul.
*mercime smacks palm on forehead*In reply to: Disabling Group Createhttps://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-restrict-group-creation/
– Note that the plugin will not be updated for future versions of BuddyPress (like 1.3+) by current plugin author. Hopefully, someone will take over the plugin.Or, check this out http://bp-tricks.com/coding/manage-group-creation-by-creating-a-group-request-form/
@carlla good to know you’ve got it working now.
Cheers. In reply to: Call to arms – Own your taskre: default-home, default-member, bphome, bpmember, bp-sn-parent, and bp-default themes
Thank you.re: get_template vs locate_template
A great article on proper usage of get_template_part and locate_template can be found here: http://justintadlock.com/archives/2010/11/17/how-to-load-files-within-wordpress-themes.
locate_template – function searches in the STYLESHEETPATH before TEMPLATEPATH so that themes which inherit from a parent theme can just overload one file https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/locate_template.In reply to: Theme Development on TrunkIn the meantime, as of BP 1.3 trunk-4414
1. open up https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php
2. comment out line # 163 and lines #170 to #175
3. add to your child theme’s stylesheet
`@ import url( ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/reset.css );
@ import url( ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/default.css );
@ import url( ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/adminbar.css );`
delete space between `@` and `import`In reply to: Drop down Country selction option for profile field== Can this be done? If yes, how? ==
Not at this time. Read this thread for explanation https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypress-roles/
In reply to: Call to arms – Own your taskJust got back in. All tickets listed at this time in https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3241 are either being worked on and many have already been fixed. Kudos to all
In reply to: Admin gets automatically redirected to homepage…== Perhaps this bug has been fixed in BP 1.3, what do you think? ==
@Qwindoo I haven’t seen any “bug” like this in current BP 1.2.8 at all. Does this happen only on tabs in the users section as well as in dropdown links from BP Admin Bar? Have you tried manually re-uploading your BP files to server?
== I installed BP 1.3-bleeding (downloaded from Trac just an hour ago) to test things out, ==
BP 1.3-bleeding should be tested on WP 3.2 rc1. In any case, you would have to resolve your current installation first,
In reply to: Admin gets automatically redirected to homepage…@Qwindoo that is definitely not the default behavior as you have surmised. Change theme to bp-default and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress. Then activate your plugins and theme one after another to check which one is triggering the errant behavior.
@carlla sorry for not being clearer. You should not manually transfer the BP template files from the template pack yourself. The template pack process will transfer the BP template files in the backend.
Going back to the blank page
https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/In reply to: WP Multi Network for WordPress 3.1?@Andrea_r – BP MultiNetwork is awesome news indeed. Thank you and wpmuguru

== move the Activity, Registration and Members folders to TwentyTen theme ==
You don’t “move” the BP folders to your theme, you need to
1. have Twenty Ten theme activated
2. install the BP Template Pack plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/
3. follow the instructions of the BP Compatibility Process https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
If you need some pointers for the whole process, read this – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/
In reply to: Help with login and signup== By switching to Buddypress default, do you mean uninstalling and re-installing the plugin? ==
@hardy4775 he means go to Appearance > Themes > Activate – BuddyPress Default
In reply to: which file will i get User header.phpSure you can. members-loop.php does co-exist with member-header.php

Just remember to follow the directory structure which means that your member-header.php will be copied over like so –
wp-content/themes/yourchildthemefolder/members/single/member-header.php
