@radovic you can see the template tag added now.
@vcantrell, good of you to share your solution. Please remember to surround your code with backticks.
In reply to: Does Artisteer work with Buddypress themes?@thewomaninus
== I have Artisteer and started working on a theme and since I just installed buddypress am now wondering “Will it even work with it?” ==It could work with BP Template Pack, BUT
1. personally, I’d recommend against using Artisteer to generate your theme. Better to download theme closest to design you want from https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ then adjust accordingly.
2. code generated could most possibly make it harder for your to integrate BuddyPress template files
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/
3. don’t know whether any javascript generated from creating that theme with Artisteer would have conflict with BuddyPress or BP plugins.
4. etc.== Can anyone explain to me how to have the front page of my site not as a blog or buddypress? Then to have a blog of different Categories on different tabs? Then a place to click to go into where buddypress would be? Does that make sense? ==
Yes, I know what you mean. That is basically a WordPress template question. Create a Page Template, put in code for that template, publish the page with custom Page Template and set it as front page of your site.

Did you disable it from logged out users in dashboard > BuddyPress menu ?

@JamieWade I would recommend you leave a message for @sbrajesh at at his site because he’s the one who can address necessary updates to the theme..
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal Error – memory sizeWhat’s on lines 3 and 4 of your wp-config.php file? If you’re on webhosting server, have you contacted tech support?
Glad you resolved that on your on. Have added “or” before “before the Add Friend, Mention this user buttons ” to prevent mistakes/confusion.
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal Error – memory sizeIn reply to: sitewide posts== When I create a post and tick the “sidewide” option, and hit publish, the page goes white. ==
Sitewide option is not even default in a multisite installation in the Post write/edit panel, much less a single WP site. Did you install a multipost plugin or something of that kind? You don’t need nor can you use it in single WP.
It’s on the BP 1.4 roadmap https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2348 – BP Roles and Capabilities
In reply to: No link to group directory== I have no link to the groups directory anywhere except in the “create group” area. ==
Are you using a custom theme? Because there should be a Groups directory link in bp-default theme. Plus, there is a Groups link in your BP admin bar unless you’ve disabled it.
You would need to create a plugin for that. There’s none that does what you want at the moment.
In reply to: How To Create a Classroom EnvironmentSomething like this would help you https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-courseware/
http://scholarpress.github.com/buddypress-courseware/handbook.htmlAdded this info in BP Codex under minimum requirements for future reference
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-server== I have installed and reinstalled WP3.1.2 + BP 1.2.8 from scratch ==
When you say you did it from scratch, do you mean you uploaded WP files manually and not used webhost script like fantastico and the like? If you used the webhost script, I suggest you drop tables from DB, delete .htaccess file and re-install WordPress manually via FTP/cpanel. I’ve seen dozens of BP install problems arising from the fact that WP was installed using those webhost scripts.
“wp-admin/user/?c=1” usually caused by broken plugins and/or issue with caches. Do not overlook renaming mu-plugins folder (if you have one). If you are the Network Admin, check your database wp_users and you’ll be the first row
–In reply to: Hi! I want to make a custom buddybar but..== All I want to do is to hide the “Dashboard” button ==
Know that the “Dashboard” link in adminbar appears for logged-in users who have a role greater than Subscriber on your blog. If you still want to do this then if you don’t have one yet, create a bp-custom.php file, add the code below and upload to wp-content/plugins folder:
`<?php
remove_action( ‘bp_adminbar_menus’, ‘bp_adminbar_thisblog_menu’, 6 );
?>`== have Notifications and buttons like “Edit Profile” etc [in adminbar] ==
Notifications link and “Edit Profile” buttons are already in adminbar for logged-in-users.
In reply to: Members profile not shown.== Everything is working fine except the member profile page view.Members listing are ok but when i am trying to view the member profile it redirect me to same page mean member listing page.==
There are missing files in your installation. Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme, and see if the issue is corrected. If so, then it could be that if you’re using a WP theme and installed BP Template Pack, but not all BP template files were transferred to your active WP theme. Go to theme folder in server and check if these 13 files in 6 different folders have been transferred

WP/BP versions? Are all those 20 blogs in a multisite installation or in single WP’s?
== Is there ANY way to override this or to set the custom structure so that it is exactly the same as the default? Any help would be great!! ==
It all depends on the configuration of your blogs – MS or single, but there are ways to go about this.
On multisite installation, just create another site e.g. http://mainsite.com/newsite where you can define BuddyPress and set permalinks to other than default.
On single WP, e,g, http://example.com, I would create a physical subdomain http://buddypress.example.com/ install WP at root using the same database as the example.com site but with a different prefix and share userbase — backup DB first before attempting this.

– if you posted what BP/WP versions you’re using,
– if you have deactivated all plugins and changed to bp-default theme already,
– if that Site Admin is lone group admin
– and other pertinent information.In reply to: Reply Button Not Working@JamieWade either follow up with theme dev for update or change theme.

In reply to: [Resolved] Remove the bar and search in header…https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/
Disable the admin bar / buddybar at the top of every screen, put the code below into your wp-config.php at root of your WP install
`define ( ‘BP_DISABLE_ADMIN_BAR’, true );`== move the search to the menu bar ==
This can be done by ADDING the following to your style.css — you might need to add/delete some pixels here and there, adjust to taste“#header {
margin-bottom: 20px;
padding-top: 15px;
}#header h1 {
bottom: 50px;
width: 100%;
}#nav {
max-width: auto;
left: 20px;
right: 300px;
}#header #search-bar {
top: 80px;
width: 300px;
}`In reply to: Problem with Buddypress community link.== Eveyrytime I create a new site (I’m running multisites on WordPress) Buddypress creates a tab named Community. ==
This is not default behavior. Causes for this may be
– you’re using a theme that generates a community tab – change to bp-default theme to see difference, or
– you installed WP/BP in subdirectory of site named community, or
– you have WP multisite and defined BP in subsite named community.== “Sorry, Not Found, Error 404 ==
https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/navigation-links-return-404-errors/
== Can anyone tell me how to fix this? ==
Change theme to bp-default and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and see if your site is working like default installation like http://testbp.org
