Almost same topic as your first post which I replied to https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/bug-install/
In reply to: Buddypress / Multisite issue== but there is no new member sign up, only a log in ==
@godcix go to dashboard > Network Admin > Settings > Settings > Registration Settings — either “user accounts many be created” or “user and blogs may be created” should be chosen. The default setting is closed registration so you have to change the setting.
In reply to: Bug install== it returns a non-existent LINK (PAGE NOT FOUND ==
You need mod_rewrite module enabled – aka “pretty permalinks” for BuddyPress to work== Folders to be moved are Activity, menbers, Groups, Forums ==
Not sure what you mean. If you’re using the BP Template Pack to make your WordPress theme compatible with BuddyPress, the plugin will do that for during during the compatibility process.In reply to: BuddyPress Questions & Answers@henrypwmoulton Doesn’t look to be compatible with BP and it looks more like a forum custom post type. Reminds me of a premium theme http://wordpressqa.com/
Having said that, the best way to find out if that plugin is compatible with BP would be to ask the plugin devs at http://wp-answers.com/contactIn reply to: Buddypress forums not working@dcaccavo thanks for sharing. Is this for latest versions – WordPress 3.1.1, BuddyPress 1.2.8 and bbPress 1.0.3?
The last time I did an external bbPress install for BP was more than a year ago and it took me about 38++ steps
If I recall well, that was bbPress 1.0.2 with WPMU 2.8.4a and BP 1.1.2 or something I think…How’s the external forum working so far for you? Does posting to forum show up in sitewide Activity Stream and in member’s activity stream?
In reply to: ”Proper” forum for BuddyPressbbPress is being converted to a WP Plugin https://trac.bbpress.org/roadmap by JJJacoby, Lead Dev of both bbPress plugin and BuddyPress plugin.
Currently, there’s a “Global Forums Plugin” ($30 membership) by at BuddyDev.com that works as a standalone forum on top of the bbPress internal Forum set up and/or works with existing BP Group Forums. I believe it’s scheduled to be updated soon as Brajesh is also looking at the roadmap for bbPress.
EDIT – there’s an interesting post by someone who seems to have integrated an external bbPress with BuddyPress, don’t know how it’s working so far though – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/what-the-heck-is-wrong-with-my-forums/?topic_page=2&num=15&_wpnonce=46d45d8861#post-95884
In reply to: Bar not compatible with themes, (java issue?)Checked out the theme demo and it doesn’t look like JS conflict at all. It looks more like you missed checking option to include the bp.css file which has the styling you need for the BP Admin Bar to move to the top of the page.
I suggest that you take advantage of BuddyBase theme dev’s forums or download a copy of the theme and re-upload manually via FTP or cpanel etc.
http://www.buddyboss.com/forum/EDIT – on second thought after seeing their forums, I suggest re-uploading copy of theme since something got lost in a revision or file transmission. It should look like the demo http://www.buddyboss.com/buddybase/the-museum-of-science-and-industry/
In reply to: Forum being redirected to homepage@ghostrose333 BP/WP versions?
– Change theme to bp-default and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress. See if same behavior applies.
– Did you go to dashboard > BuddyPress > Forums Setup and install the forum?
– Check your database if tables for forums were created.In reply to: Activity Reply Not Working@miklamx Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change theme to bp-default.
In reply to: Am I Just an Idiot? BP InstallationIncrease the amount of memory. If your install is on a shared hosting service, you may need to ask your host to increase the limit.
1. Increase the memory limit setting in php.ini (e.g. memory_limit = 64M
. Many hosts may not allow this.
2. Increase the memory limit via .htaccess (e.g. php_value memory_limit 64M). Many hosts may not allow this.
3. Increase the memory limit via wp-config.php (e.g. define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64MB’)
You’d have to adapt group codes to do that, much like this plugin did https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-reviews/
In reply to: Allowing Users to Customize Their Background Image@r-a-y I second everything. Thanks
In reply to: How to set up a group’s form ?No one has released a plugin to create a form on the group’s wall yet. But yes, it’s possible.
In reply to: [Suggestion] BuddyPress Badges.There’s something like that already. Just needs to be updated https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-badge/
In reply to: profile field setup questionWP/BP versions? Have you deactivated all plugins except BuddyPress and changed to bp-default theme to see this is not a plugin/theme conflict?
In reply to: No Admin Bar or any other sign of BP on website page== it’s just mercime having a little ‘re-arranging of the furniture’ session ==
@hnla not fair, LOL. The sticky should be about what a backtick is. It’s not an apostrophe and neither should they place “backticks“ as is before and after code
In reply to: 20 Avatars@johnjamesjacoby is currently upgrading BuddyPress.org and other BP assets. Thank you for your patience.
In reply to: New added blogs don’t appear in a site menu== Recently created blogs aren’t shown in the menu and activity, but they can be seen in the drop-down list when add a group blog (with Group Blog plugin) ==
WP/BP versions? Re recently created blogs – are these blogs created by users and/OR blogs created via Group Blog plugin? If so, let’s look at each kind separately.
If you’re only using Group Blogs plugin for the recently created blogs, know that this plugin has not been updated for latest WP/BP versions which could mean the difference between showing up in navigation or not, among other things. Double-check backend of sites not showing up in navigation – if Settings > Privacy is not set to “Block search engines …. ” because if so, that site will not show up in any auto-generated list.

In reply to: Making Your Theme BuddyPress Compatible@alexbdd Following the instruction in this BP codex article https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
Go to server and download the template folders/files transferred by BP Template Pack plugin process to your active WP theme folder down to your computer.
Open up activity/index.php
change this at the top, replace:
``
with
`<?php
get_header ();
?>
<div class="column span-“>`At the bottom of same file, replace
``
with
`
<?php
get_sidebar();
get_footer();
?>`Save file and upload to server following the directory structure. You need to do the same thing in the next 12 files.
In reply to: How to Change Add Friend to Add as friendIn reply to: Not able to create a group@number_6 you might need to update template tags in Saffron theme’s header.php which you can double check by comparing with header.php of bp-default theme https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/tags/1.2.8/bp-themes/bp-default/header.php
In reply to: Friend Referral System@Bowromir the last time I used Secure Invites on test install a year ago, my test users had to reset their passwords when I disabled it to test another invite plugin. Do you know if that behavior has changed in recent versions?
