In reply to: [Resolved] 1.6.5 crashes pages with shortcode
@bibliata congratulations on resolving the issue on your own 🙂 As for the shortcode, none that I know of.
In reply to: How to make a child theme?@bandtobuy you’re welcome. Let us know how it goes 🙂
In reply to: Old Plugin to add a Blog tab to Group needs repairl@redheadkelly have you also posted this at plugin author’s and/or theme author’s support forums?
In reply to: Plugin FailsEverytime i upload any plugin my site crashes
What do you mean by “crashes”? white screen in front end and/or backend? Errors/warnings? Have you checked server error logs? If you change from the scholar theme to bp default, does the site “crash” as well when you upload a plugin?
In reply to: Post update Button not there@equinestaff I posted successfully in both FF and IE9. See my posts -> http://testwebpage.info/members/test3/
In reply to: Activity posting twiceI’ve read this is to do with the template pack which i need at the moment
@fpats it only has to do with the template pack if you already have a BuddyPress-ready theme. It also happened in older versions of BP were not upgraded to compatible WordPress version. So what are your WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Have you tried deactivating other plugins to see which is causing the issue (WPML perhaps?) ?
In reply to: Auto embed images?@blg002 bbPress forums includes TinyMCE editor. If you’re in Text editor mode, click on img button and insert the image url. If you’re in Visual editor mode, click on the image icon and insert the image url like what I did below

I tried changing the color from Appearances but that has no effect.
You mean from the Appearance > Editor? What color in what area are you trying to change?
In reply to: [Resolved] 1.6.5 crashes pages with shortcodeDefault theme works after update, however the secondary theme works only partially …
Going back to your original post, when you say default theme – do you mean the BuddyPress Default theme? As to the “secondary theme”, what theme are you referring to? Has this theme been updated for latest WP/BP versions?
@bibliata As to the shortcode crashing. Where is the shortcode coming from? From a plugin or from a custom theme with such shortcode? Again, have either been updated for lastest BP/WP versions?
In reply to: How to make a child theme?I couldn’t figure out how to add the stylesheet header because I was unable to edit it. I simple made the folder but I could not configure it
@bandtobuy create the child theme folder with the style.css (with header) and functions.php file within, in your computer’s hard drive and then upload the child theme folder with files to wp-content/themes/ in server.
In reply to: Auto embed images?@blg002 sorry, I thought you wanted more than what’s already available in default bbPress (aka Sitewide forums) installation. Go to Settings > Forums > Main Settings – Auto-embed links – check this “Embed media (YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc…) directly into topics and replies”
In reply to: Post update Button not thereWP/BP versions? Which IE version? What theme are you using? Screenshot or site uri with test username and password?
In reply to: Auto embed images?@unsalkorkmaz congratulations! finally 🙂
In reply to: How to make a child theme?@bandtobuy 1. BuddyPress should be activated before child theme of bp-default theme is recognized in themes. or 2. Did you add the stylesheet header in your new style.css file? you didn’t say.

*/Each time I assign a Blog Posts page in the Reading setting, that page is not found when accessing through the main menu
@discdemo You have to create the page first. And Settings > Reading with the blog page you created is associated with having a static front page. https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
Or, if you just want a page with latest blogs listed, see http://www.nathanrice.net/blog/creating-a-blog-page-with-paging/ Note that when copy/pasting code from the article, remove the spaces between `<` and `?` as well as between `?` and `>`
In reply to: Missing postsIn reply to: Missing posts@lradden have you tried contacting the previous webmaster? Looks like it’s missing a plugin like Courseware perhaps, sound familiar or one of the learning management systems. Check in your Plugins > Installed panel. The lessons plugin may have been deactivated.
Otherwise, where are you hosted? If on shared host, perhaps tech support can get you a copy of your database backup from last month at least to check wp_options table to see what were the active plugins at that time.
In reply to: Missing Registration form and password lost page@danny80 deactivate all plugins and change to Twenty Twelve theme. Activate BuddyPress plugin only and check if the Installation Wizard link shows up. When it does run the wizard.

In reply to: Avatar Cropping Error@rushster that is strange. Can you post the whole error code? Are you on a shared server by any chance? Have you touched base with tech support of your hosting provider?
