Testing your theme stuff

EDIT: genius to keep the default BP structure. All plugins should do this. Easy to customize. Including a custom theme in your child theme is the way to go if BP plugins want mass inclusion. This is the only plugin that I’ve seen do this.

Another easy solution is to use a maintenance mode plugin permanently on. Create your own landing page and in the admin allow access to your registration page.

Facebook style. But really don’t code it so we theme developers can’t re arrange it.

My first request is to allow more than one album for better organization.

Second request is group albums that anyone in group can upload to.

Third request is in activity stream uploads.

Go into the bp-default folder inside the bp-themes folder where buddypress plugin is and cut and paste the navigation code from header.php into where you themes navigation is.

or you could just create empty pages that link to the slugs

Instead of auto update what about a refresh in ajax button. That what you are only refreshing the stream and not all the page content.

If you have a WP theme it is easy to convert to BP. Use the template pack. Otherwise you will have to custom code a front page that pulls in posts from certain categories

Polldaddy I think allows 100 polls at a time now. I think you get whit label for $$$.

Huh? thats crazy talk. I use polls all the time. And on Facebook my activity streams are always slammed with “I voted for miley cyrus as the best pop star” BS.

Mashable has 50 million page views a month and does weekly polls. Most major sites do.

@kriskl I use the polldaddy plugin. Users can’t create polls unless you are on MU and you allow them access to the plugin. The plugin short codes work in BP activity streams and forums.

It does not use the database but I find that it doesn’t matter as much as you think. It pulls in chats from gchat aim facebook.

when you quote shouldn’t it put the text into the box? i’m not getting this to work. The quote button is there when you click it moves down to box but nothing is entered.
