In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!
ok there has got to be a way to use this plugin without having to use #TWITTER in the text area. I see people deleting this text and wondering why it’s not tweeting their content.
In reply to: enlarge sidebar on default themeyou’ve added
.content {
width: 1134px;
}
get rid of that
add this
body {
max-width: 960px;
min-width: 960px;
}
change those sizes to whatever you want the width to be but make them match.
In reply to: tab menu problemOk, thats vague. Can you be more specific?
In reply to: Like it? Vote it!voted
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!ahhh figured it out.
If you have the check saved it does not add #TWITTER therfore it does not tweet. You have to click the check each time or it does not send to twitter.
also tinyurl is good but bit.ly is better
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!Yup its there
http://tempsg.com/buddypress/wp-content/plugins/tweetstream/js/tweetstream.js
it may be a file location problem because I have test site in a sub folder and the T icon is not showing because its coded to use the base url
these need a location set that allows sub folders. I added it hard coded and it works now
echo'<link rel=”stylesheet” href=”/buddypress/wp-content/plugins/tweetstream/css/style.css” type=”text/css” media=”screen” />’;
echo'<script type=”text/javascript” src=”/buddypress/wp-content/plugins/tweetstream/js/tweetstream.js”></script>’;
Forum posting still does not work
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!No, it doesn’t send the tweet to twitter from a forum post. Let me test on another install as this one is a child theme and the test site is not.
Ok tested on test install now its not working at all on WP single 2.9.2 BP 1.2.1
I have test site in a folder though not sure if thats messing it up or not. On other site I have not upgraded BP still at 1.2
In reply to: enlarge sidebar on default theme#sidebar {
width:310px;
margin-left:310px;
}
try that raise or lower the left margin if your sidebar drops down
In reply to: enlarge sidebar on default themeIf you want to change the default css you need to create a child theme and add the css code there to over ride the default. Otherwise each time BP updates you will loose your changes.

#sidebar {
width: 310px;
}
In reply to: Sitemap generator beta – looking for a few testersJust a suggestion but i’d by default make the plugin place the files in a folder. When I ran it it created 17 files. This could be a personal preference but I like my root WP folder to be as clean as possible.
sometimes when you copy items from a folder on harddrive to server via ftp program it misses hidden files like .htaccess
You can create a file htaccess.txt add the rewrite code then upload it after upload change the name of the file to .htaccess
I’m using WP single and this is whats in my .htacess file
RewriteBase /
#uploaded files
RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/$ index.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !.*wp-content/plugins.*
RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-content/blogs.php?file=$2 [L]
# add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^.*/wp-admin$
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ $1/ [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule . - [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-.*) $2 [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ $2 [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
<IfModule mod_security.c>
<Files async-upload.php>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</Files>
</IfModule>
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPressIn reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!WP single 2.9.2 BP 1.2 does not send tweet from forum posting. Activity updates work fine.
In reply to: Request from Designer to Plugin DevelopersWell its the usual things like buttons that have been styled in a plugin that should be pulling the BP css styles so it fits into the default css. There is going to be ton of BP child themes and most will use the default classes just restyled. This will make plugins fit better. Layout is ok in a plugins css but colors, fonts and links should match up to the default BP css.
In reply to: BuddyPress LikeThis would be good if it notified the poster of content that you liked something. The favorite to me is more for a user to bookmark content.
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home page@gregfielding No. Or not with out heavy coding. You can add another sidebar in between the content and sidebar.
@karto your link on your site does not work. I’m going to include more options for this theme. This theme is really just a gap for people with the classic theme with widgetized home page to have it for 1.2. So their upgrade is smoother and I need it for a project.
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!NOOO! I want the @ to go both ways please do not remove that
If you want to @somebody from BP to twitter then check it if you want to @ somebody just on site then dont check it. Very simple. when you click the @ for twitter make link in stream link to twitter when you @ someone with out checking it then link to the site url.Is this even possible?
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!@r-a-y all I’m saying is wrap the embedded object with the same url that is in the view.
The size can be managed via css. That way the activity stream isn’t clogged with large images and videos.
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!If you click the thumb of a blog post it takes you to that blog page. The oembed has a view link I’m suggesting a thumbnail to go to that view link. Showing the full view of flickr and youtube videos takes considerable space in the activity stream. Just trying to clean it up a bit.
In reply to: Tweetstream (twitter plugin) Beta testers needed!maybe they are not waiting, doesn’t it take an hour for tweets from twitter to reach BP?
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!Suggestion: when you input a url and it auto embeds. I think for usability sake it should do a thumbnail like blog posts and @sbrajesh gallery plugin. The thumbnail would then be viewable full size in the permalink view. This could be done via css but the embed would need to be wrapped in the permalink.
In reply to: Front End Blog PostingI’ve used todo mini forms.
Though my request is a less technical blog posting form with the ability to set draft, edit and post from front in. Basically the quick press from back end placed on your profile.
Not a full fledged blogging software just an simple blogging tool.
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageDifferent column choices. Currently its wide-narrow-narrow. Could do a narrow-wide-narrow template or have even more zones to place widgets.
In reply to: Upgrading from regular WP to BuddyPressAlso http://wpmu.org/ [snip] …
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageIf you want to stay up to date on this theme i would install the repo version. I fixed the recent members widget . just install and activate the repo theme and delete the other one.
This theme is just a way to get a widgetized home page like the previous version of BP and thats all it will ever be. So if the default BP theme doesn’t have it this theme will not either. sub nav will have to be something you code on your own.
Not sure of time line for more layouts.
