Perfect! turning out light
Lights back on
I see that you cant post to a wire via this option but you still can message people who are not friends. I can go to anyone’s profile and click the send message button. Is there a way to stop non friends from messaging you?
I can see this being used to spam members.
My site is a Twitter site so I tried to get this plug in to work as well. I just opted for a custom profile field that use the twitter html widget code. So when you go to a profile it pulls in latest tweets.
Is this fixed or is there a fix?
can someone post up what the htaccess looks like on a working install with fancy urls. I do not have a one working.
yeah never would update for me either. it wasn’t the hour thing either as I can manually edit htaccess and it changes immediately.
got bbpress working but their is no option in bpress to use 4) Edit “settings” to enable xmlrpc and pingbacks (both) this just does not exits in bbpress
this part makes no sense either: groups page just lists all the buddypress groups. I do not understand why or where you would put this url.
6) Go into your main blog dashboard as the “site-admin” and go to the groups admin page. Put in the URL of your forum like http://yoursite.com/forums/ and make sure you have the ending slash on that one.
In the MU admin there is no groups forum link. I have the bp-forums folder in mu-plugins.
The read me file is lacking what and where to put files.
link to screenshot of bbpress settings page there is no options for xlmrpc

its there a way to just write the htaccess our selves and no have MU do it?
yeah for a $50 buck membership
love this plugin but would like it to put a link in group side bar that says blog and keep everything in the group. like the my recent posts link.
oh ok so add another admin and then change the first admin to something else? Will this screw with WP?
are you using fancy urls? I cant use them on my site or the ajax quits.
No site does this anymore. You sign up choose your password and then it sends that password in an email with a verify link. I have 153 member and 100 of them had to do the forgot password because they did not change the password and deleted the email. I changed the text in the sign up to tell them a temporary password will show and to change it asap. What file is the email text in? I want to put a reminder in that activation email to alert them to change password.
Thanks
Hi Andy, I would like to write a post about how I’m using BuddyPress.
The site is for Twitter role players. There are currently thousands of roleplayers on Twitter who pretend to be a fictional character. I am using BuddyPress to aggregate all these people.
it pulls from your text a keyword and gets the player from amazon
Sweet!
check it out its not working
You can use any page template as a home page. In the admin of mu just have the front page as a static page choose the page, it could be called home, and then select the page template you want. I think page templates are the most under utilized feature of wordpress. You can make it anything you want.
If you do not know how to create custom page templates the search on wordpress. many tuts.
I have this issue. In the admin I set the widget to display 5 members but when clicking active or popular it lists everyone on the site.
Is there a way to fix this?
burtadsit, I tried what you said but it didn’t work. The ajax stopped.
thanks Trent plugin works great
burtadsit, I figured out that the fancy url was the culprit. I turned off the fancy url and the handler file was found but I would like to get back the fancy url. So any thoughts on how?
ok maybe I didn’t explain it right. I do not allow blog registrations. I manually add users to a blog via blog backend. Those authors do not have the blog listed in their profile as my blog. It seems to only list a blog if you are the admin. If you click recent posts it shows the posts.
I like my url to be the shortest so I had it set in WP to postname. Well at least I can cycle through members but would like to get fancy urls back.
ok so after all this run around I think its a BP bug. I got it to too work. The problem was I have the site set to custom url. I thought ok if it cant find the file then the url in the browser is wrong. So I changed the fancy url back to original and bingo!
