Just as an update, I ended up using these two plugins to achieve the desired result:

@nahummadrid – I have used @r-a-y‘ scode as well, but would love a ‘who has favourited’ widget to go on the page, would your widget work with ray’s code too?

@nahummadrid said it straight and clear, there’s no BuddyPress without WordPress. There’s no standalone BuddyPress. BuddyPress is a WordPress plugin.

He’ll like the traffic. Especially since they’re FourSquare’s badges and not that sites. I wonder how the FourSquare badges are licensed.

I’m actually thinking about some data that the users wouldn’t input, but rather that would be generated by another process and linked to their account. I thought the profile would be an idea place to include that info.

Your pretty lucky because that’s exactly what I’ve been working on for BP-Tricks. I have one big tutorial I need to finished first, but then I’ll publish a pretty extensive tutorial about using W3 Total Cache and BuddyPress 🙂

@nahummadrid Maybe @MrMaz can tell you something about the performance of the plugin in more detail, but the feeds are cached and only checked once an hour or on a direct profile visit.
