yooohooo
In reply to: First experiments and I already need help 🙁thanks some thousands for your answer
.Well ,the question about the folder is crucial, because right now the production environment is under a special folder, but eventually I want to move everything under the root, but only in the late testing phase, when everything is sort out.
will it be a mess? I think it’s better if I know now, thanks.
What do you suggest me to do in case?
The site will be a community site that I’m trying to develop together with other people, so we are using SVN to share the code, but I was hoping to have the same local testing environment too, but it’s not a big deal.
In reply to: American Idol fan site using BuddyPress 1.2oh sorry, I misunderstood the initial post (I haven’t read it carefully, I didn’t get you were the one who put it on
)
In reply to: American Idol fan site using BuddyPress 1.2looks good, but 2 members only?!
In reply to: Html page as front pageI’m pretty sure that you can easily achieve that using the admin panel of bp. Just go to the widget section of your blog and remove the blog activity widget and add instead the text widget.
In reply to: FEATURES REQUEST Classifieds (Plugin)cool!
In reply to: Starting real developmentthanks for all the advices
In reply to: Starting real developmentbtw, my production machine is currently running the standard version of BP 1.1.3. Do you suggest me to start developing with this version or jumping right away to the new beta version?
In reply to: Starting real developmentthe BP book would be cool
, my problem is that I’m not a DB expert (I don’t even know sql) and I’m not in the web philosophy.Setting up and installing the environment will be straightforward by sure, but I’m not sure if I will get what I should start with. Changing the theme? developing plugin? I sorta need a hello world example I suppose
.Nevermind though, until I don’t start to experment I can’t be sure, so I will let you know this weekend
.
In reply to: Starting real developmentso it’s just a matter to start, isn’t it? I’m a little just a little bit scaried about the lack of documentations of BP, but I have saved a lot of links, now it’s time to give a look to them
In reply to: Widget systemthank you very much, I will give a look
In reply to: Buddypress 1.2 and WPThanks Andrea, I just didn’t understand if WPMU won’t exist anymore because it will be merged with WP as option (that would be smart I suppose)
In reply to: Sub groupsnevertheless it could make sense.
In reply to: Forum recent discussion bugany clue?
In reply to: Recent Activities on private groupany clue if I have to check something in my own code or it’s a bug?
In reply to: Different Blog, Different Groupsthank you very much! I will try indeed
In reply to: Recent Activities on private groupI’ll post 2 pictures, I hope you can see them.
The first one is how a public group is currently shown:
as you can see the “Attivita’ gruppo” (group activities laterally) is shown correctly.
this image shown a private group, and here the “Attivita’ gruppo” is completely missed, it just shows the recent discussions (as well as they are shown in the public group).
Is it a bug? Wrong configuration of my installation?
In reply to: Forum recent discussion bugthanks dj, who can be sure about that?
In reply to: BP 1.2 and bbPress admin/pluginsI like the forum to be used inside the group as they are. I’d love more to have plugin support though. I wonder if it’s possible to adapt easily the interface.
In reply to: BuddyPress screencasts – what do you want to see?Yep, but of course we/you should make a sharp distinction between video for users and video for developers.
as developer, I want MANY videos.
In reply to: BP 1.2 and bbPress admin/pluginsthe one hacking the bb-config.php, that was something that I already noticed. Just I think, if the developers don’t want us to access to the admin panel there must be a valid reason.
Anyway it works properly, it’s just that the buddypress can’t handle the plugin frontend
In reply to: BP 1.2 and bbPress admin/pluginsI installed the support plugin using the admin of the default installation as you suggested, but there is no point to do that, since the buddypress interface doesn’t support it.
In reply to: BuddyPress screencasts – what do you want to see?installation/use are pretty straightforward, I can’t see how videos can be useful except just as demo to show the buddypress capabilities.
In reply to: Red/Green light feature on bbpressso I guess that what DJPaul meant is that the bbpress plugins can’t be used in anycase inside buddypress.
I’d like to have something similar the support forum though, does it mean that buddypress will be NEVER compatible with the bbpress plugin?
If I want to do something similar, do I have to write something on my own that works appositely for buddypress?
In reply to: BP 1.2 and bbPress admin/pluginsI’m discussiong already a similar topic some thread below
