I just followed the steps and it worked like a charm. I must say that PoEdit is an absolute lifesaver and a “must” for anyone editing language files.
In reply to: Increase Padding between Avatars in Who’s OnlineTry placing the following at the very bottom of your style.css file.
.avatar-block img {
padding: 5px;
}
You can play with the “5px;” value.
In reply to: send mass emailHere’s a plugin for WPMU: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sitewide-newsletter/
In reply to: BP Album+ || New Features Requests and DiscussionThat makes sense. And I think that as long as you cover the top 5 or so sites (e.g. YouTube and Vimeo for video and Flickr and Photobucket for images) things will work for the vast majority of users.
I wonder if oEmbed might provide a simpler way for yall to do that.
In reply to: Plugin Ideas ThreadA “Site-wide Editor” role just underneath the existing “Site-wide Admin”. There’s a post here.
In reply to: Adding pagination links to bottom of Group DirectoryWell, maybe it’s up to me then.

I just got it working for members, groups and blogs.
// add pagination links to the bottom of the groups directory
function add_bottom_group_pagination_links() {
?>
<div class="pagination" style="margin-top:5px;">
<div class="pag-count" id="group-dir-count">
<?php bp_groups_pagination_count() ?>
</div>
<div class="pagination-links" id="group-dir-pag">
<?php bp_groups_pagination_links() ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php
}
add_action( 'bp_after_groups_loop', 'add_bottom_group_pagination_links' );
// add pagination links to the bottom of the members directory
function add_bottom_member_pagination_links() {
?>
<div class="pagination" style="margin-top:5px;">
<div class="pag-count" id="member-dir-count">
<?php bp_members_pagination_count() ?>
</div>
<div class="pagination-links" id="member-dir-pag">
<?php bp_members_pagination_links() ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php
}
add_action( 'bp_after_members_loop', 'add_bottom_member_pagination_links' );
// add pagination links to the bottom of the blogs directory
function add_bottom_blog_pagination_links() {
?>
<div class="pagination" style="margin-top:5px;">
<div class="pag-count" id="blog-dir-count">
<?php bp_blogs_pagination_count() ?>
</div>
<div class="pagination-links" id="blog-dir-pag">
<?php bp_blogs_pagination_links() ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php
}
add_action( 'bp_after_blogs_loop', 'add_bottom_blog_pagination_links' );Maybe I’ll spend my weekend writing my 1st BP plugin.
In reply to: Adding pagination links to bottom of Group DirectoryWow, worked like a charm. I wonder if someone could make this into plugin that does this for the group, memeber, and blog pages?
Thanks man.
In reply to: Plugin Hall of Shame! 🙂 Plugin Devs Please ReadFYI, Buddypress Ajax Chat updated their plugin on April 11th. I think they may have fixed their issue so you might want to update the list if they have.
In reply to: BuddyPress Forum Move Topic 0.0.1@3sixty, I hope you’re able to turn it into a plugin. I know that it would come in handy and quite useful for users out there.
So following the plugin bunny trail that we’re on I’m going to throw my shoe out there.
BP is/was a group of plugins. When I install BP I’m not actually installing one plugin. I’m actually installing 7: Activity, Blog Tracking, bbPress Forums, Friends, Groups, Private Messaging, and Extended Profiles.
If BP can provide the best, fastest, most extensible core hooks and loops, then let the plugin developers code and extend to their hearts desire.
if (BP Core == diving board)
plugin authors = the bells and whistles of BP
The way I see it, there should be 3 classes of plugins.
1. The Core BP plugins (i.e. currently the 7 components… this list will increase, such as Basic Privacy).
If you’re not running all or most of these, then you’re not really running BP.
The BP is officially “in charge” of keeping these plugins updated.
2. The Senior Plugins (e.g. Media-Albums, Oembed for Activity Streams, BP SEO, Enhanced Privacy etc.)
These are plugins that almost 65% (or some other number) of sites will end up using but we’re not sure that they will.
BP officially endorses and most likely will use their paid developers to keep these plugins functional.
3. The Normal Plugins (e.g. GEO Locations, Extended Profiles, Gifts, etc.)
Plugins that authors create for different purposes. While many sites use them, they don’t have the same widespread use and support as the Senior Plugins.
BP has no official position with respect to these plugins.
Currently only category 1 and 3 exist. There is no category 2.
In reply to: Seo for Buddypress 1.0 betaWe haven’t updated to the latest version but everything so far seems to be going well.
In reply to: monetizing buddypress??You may find this plugin useful: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ozh-who-sees-ads/
I believe you’ll need to edit the different template pages to have the ads display… I could be wrong on that though. It’s been a while since I’ve played around with it. It may now just require moving some widgets around.
In reply to: Smilies / Emoticons How to (?)Buddypress is the tool that I use to bring friends and friends of friends together.
The emphasis of my community is primarily blogging. It’s for the people who’ve never had a Facebook account…. and for the people who use Facebook, Twitter, Buzz and more. So for us Buddypress is the superglue that pulls WPMU (soon to be WPMS) together.
In reply to: BP Album+ || New Features Requests and Discussion@foxly and team
Good to hear that yall applied for GSoC. It’d be good for yall to get paid for all of your hard work. Perhaps if yall sent a PM to Andy, JJJ, and Marshall they might put in a good word for yall with the WordPress crew that’ll be choosing the projects.
In reply to: BP Album+ || New Features Requests and Discussion+1 to @Xevo’s idea
Instead of only adding support for a dedicated streaming, perhaps adding streaming from 3rd parties like youtube/dailymotion/veoh as well? Something like just a simple input where people can throw in the embed/url of the video page and then the youtube/dailymotion/veoh video gets added in their “videoalbum”.
Would be cool for people that don’t have dedicated server.
In reply to: WP Multi NetworkFirst I’ve heard of the plugin. The plugin author is one of the 3 main coders for BuddyPress though. You might try sending him a message: https://buddypress.org/developers/johnjamesjacoby/

In reply to: BP Album+ || New Features Requests and DiscussionWow, you guys just keep churning the updates out. When do you think it’ll be safe to use on a production site? (i.e. my users uploads won’t be deleted every time I update).

In reply to: Site wide stats?@BooneGorges: And that should work on all the themes on our site as long as they call wp_footer.php ?
In reply to: Overriding the themes function.php = blank page@technonow, At first I had the same problem that you are, a white screen. But I finally found a typo. Somehow I had entered a couple letters after a semicolon. Everything is now working fine for me now.
In reply to: Privacy component–where is it?Ditto on that.
In reply to: BuddyPress LikeI think a widget of a page showing the “Most Liked” items over different time periods would be awesome! And yes, “Favorites” really does act more like “Bookmarks”.
In reply to: Buddypress needs “Site-Wide Editor” User Role@Andrea_r: Now that I think about it, the “Site-wide Admin” user role is actually something implemented by WPMU and not BP. So this is really more of a question to integrate “Site-wide Editors” into the WPMU core rather than the BP core.
So how would this “Site-wide Editor” role be affected by WP 3.0?
