BP Album+ || New Features Requests and Discussion

    @foxly

If you need a free image gallery or photo album for BuddyPress, BP Album+ is probably the plugin you’re looking for. BP Album+ adds instant, FaceBook style photo albums to all of your user’s profiles.

You can always get the most up-to-date version from the WordPress plugin repository at this link:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/

Or, if you like living on the bleeding-edge of BuddyPress development, you can get the latest beta here:

    http://foxly.ca/bp-album-1_6_BETA.zip

    ======

This forum thread is for discussing new features the community would like to see in future releases of the BP Album+ plugin.

All ideas are welcome, no matter how crazy, bandwidth-intensive, or strange …but the final call on what goes into the plugin and when will be made by the development team.

Photos and user interfaces are a uniquely “visual” thing, so when posting an idea to this thread, please try to include a LINK to a website that’s doing the thing you want included in the plugin. For original functions that don’t exist *anywhere* yet, draw a sketch of your idea in a paint program and post a link to the image.

This will make it much easier for users that don’t speak English to understand your idea.

    So, Let’s get started!

    7) If you have made custom/modified templates for BP Album+, delete the contents of your child template folder.

    8) Clear the contents of your FireFox and Opera caches, and RESTART the browsers.

    What happens?

Also, what happens when you view the page in IE?

@paulhastings0 – probably in a week or two.

We need this plugin just as badly for *our* sites as you need it for yours… :)

I get this error when i click on media on the profiles page:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘bp_album_screen_home’ was given in /home/MyWebsite/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 414

Ps. Let me know if you need this translated to Norwegian. i would be happy to help.

Okay, clearly there’s something wrong in the plugin code, so I’m going to have to figure out:

    a) What your systems have in common, and

    b) What’s different between your systems and my system (because obviously it works on my system …lol).

So, some questions for all four of you:

    1) What OS is your server running on (linux, windows, etc)

    2) What OS is your browser operating on?

    3) What browsers have you tried, and what happened in them (Opera, Safari, FireFox, IE, and Chrome)

    4) What version of WP are you using. Is it single or MU?

    5) Do you have any other plugins running? What are they? Does it still crash when you disable them?

    6) Can you please post a copy of your wp error log file. Located in the /wp-admin/er-logs/ directory.

    7) Can you please post a copy of your apache error log file. If you’re testing on xampp it’s located in xampp/apache/logs/error.log If you’re testing on a web host, you’ll need to download or ask them for a copy.

If you guys give us good debugging info, hopefully we can get this nailed in a couple of hours.

    Thanks!

In IE8 at work nothing displays, just a “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”

I changed it to the default buddypress theme and it displayed now, but it get this at the top of the screen:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘bp_album_screen_home’ was given in /home/me/public_html/me/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 414

    1) Linux

    2) At home Mac (Firefox, Opera, Safari), at work Windows XP (Chrome, Firefox, IE8)

    3) Same error as above.

    4) Single WordPress

    5) Do you have any other plugins running? What are they? Does it still crash when you disable them? Not at home to try.

    6) Can you please post a copy of your wp error log file. Located in the /wp-admin/er-logs/ directory. I’ll look into this when I get home

Okay, well I’m testing on WPMU, so I’ll start by loading up a WP single install and see if that triggers the problem.

..And the error is “gone” when you browse the albums or images, it’s Only on the “media” page.

@foxly Glad you nailed it, do we simply overwrite the existing bp-album folder via FTP?
