    @r-a-y is there a piece of code somewhere that will allow us to add activity search from the drop down box on BP 1.2+ I was checking out the unified search topic here, but ran into a couple of issues with it…

    Hi warut, I posted a number of issues and errors on your site about 4 weeks ago with your plugin… I would love to see this resolved… with WP 3.0 and 1.2.5.2+

    Ok, so I changed it around little bit…re-added the header after taking out the search box and am pretty happy with this now. For anybody looking for a starter I’ve included it here below. Couple that with this WordPress Codex article and you should be good to go.

    Seriously… how dumb. That was it the background on all of my browswers default to not print backgrounds… :(
    Well that solved the issue with not seeing it. Now, it simply goes to the top center and is written over by all of the other page… Ok, I appreciate your help, I’ll see if I can figure out how to get this to format now. THANK YOU!

    @pisanojm

    Ok.. just thinking about this… maybe the browswer is set to not print backgrounds… let me look!?!?!

    @pisanojm

    With regard to the color… I was just trying to see if it did anything… it’s not….

    @pisanojm

    Participant

    No… I also tried with the ticks enclosing the url… Doesn’t make any sense….

    @pisanojm

    Participant

    Yep, it’s there…
    I tried the it with the apostrophes and without as well -I also tried it with background-image: vs background:

    The site is musicpln.org but is closed right now Do you have a twitter account? I’ll DM you a testuser account.

    @mercime First of all THANK YOU!

    I’m 95% of the way there! Items 2 and 3 completely resolved with your above.
    Item 1 still doesn’t appear… Any other thoughts?

    Here is what I currently have:

    Seriously… there has to be some genius CSS person on this site that can help me with this! :) Polite bump…

    @pisanojm

    Ok… I found the issue it was here:
    div.messages-options-nav {
    font-size: 11px;
    background: #eee;
    text-align: right;
    margin: 0 -20px;
    padding: 5px 15px;

    I’ve checked the BP download package and it is ok in there, so it must have been something that I accidently did while changing the css. 1.2.5.2.

    Three issues right now with Unified Search as far as my test…

    1. Seems like it is based on MU so it shows a search for “blogs”…
    Looks like this can be pulled by commenting the // show blogs search result section in the functions.php mod…

    2. It does not actually search the BLOG of the site (or doesn’t report it)… it shows a column for “blog search results” but does not populate… at least on my site. In other words, when I search for something that is clearly in a site blogpost, it returns nothing in the search results under Blog or Blogs..

    3. The Sidebar doesn’t show… at first glance, i thought it might be because it was using the -?php get_sidebar (); ?- pull but I changed that to -?php locate_template( array( ‘sidebar.php’ ), true ) ?- and it still doesn’t show (substituting – for brackets) …

    The CSS is a little messy… you can easily change this by adding the following to default.css and populating however …

    .memberss-search-result {
    display: block;
    border-bottom:2px dashed #628FBD ;
    margin: 12px;
    padding: 5px;
    color: #1B2C9E;
    }

    .groups-search-result {
    display: block;
    border-bottom:2px dashed #628FBD ;
    margin: 12px;
    padding: 5px;
    color: #1B2C9E;
    }

    .blog-search-result {
    display: block;
    border-bottom:2px dashed #628FBD ;
    margin: 12px;
    padding: 5px;
    color: #1B2C9E;
    }

    .blogs-search-result (display: block;
    border-bottom:2px dashed #628FBD ;
    margin: 12px;
    padding: 5px;
    color: #1B2C9E;
    }

    .forums-search-result {
    display: block;
    border-bottom:2px dashed #628FBD ;
    margin: 12px;
    padding: 5px;
    color: #1B2C9E;
    }

    Any Idea on how to fix 2 and 3 above? I would appreaciate it!

    Ok after experimeting even more… I can get the CDN to work correctly, but a number of directories have to be excluded and YOU CANNOT UPLOAD your files via IE anything… works on chrome and Firefox.

    Frederick had tried to help me with the CDN as well.. I got it working at one point then uploaded the new Dev. version to fix something else and it’s broken again… The other features are now working with the Dev. version of W3 Total Cache the CDN with Amazon is not as of this post…

    Thanks, I’m not really sure if the #wp-admin-bar is the right choice… maybe there is another to try?

    Can anyone confirm this for me as to if it’s specific to my site?

    @modemlooper

    You see to have a pretty good handle on the CSS Can you look at this thread and see what you think about my question about making a separate CSS to Print from for BP? Thank you.

    The Tweetstream plugin IS the reason I decided on BuddyPress and is currently working with some minor bugs.

    @pisanojm

    Ok, so I dug up a trac ticket on this and it’s be regulated to the PLUGIN category and not actionable -at least for a long time…

    Any MYSQL wizards out there willing to look into this plugin for BP?

    @pisanojm

    This would be a highly desirable option from my stand point and I’m sure many others. The ability to auto-purge Private Messages and/or limit the amount would be great.

    sorry not 1.3, but the milestones, etc.

    You can find this on the trac site…

    @pisanojm

    Here is where it resides:
    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc

    BP uses its own theme folder nested in the BP plugin…

    Have you tried with all plugins disabled by BP? Are you using Current versions of plugins/BP/WordPress?
