In reply to: Author Plugin
Can WordPress even handle multiple authors of the same post by default? I’m quite sure it cannot.
Are you using the Co-Authors Plus plugin? If so, that plugin comes with some template tags that you could use with that Code Canyon plugin:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/co-authors-plus/other_notes/You could bug the Code Canyon author to add BP support as well.
In reply to: Buddypress Pages BrokenJessykuh – Try navigating to your WordPress Menu screen to manually add the trailing slash:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_ScreenIn reply to: Edit group topic layoutIf you’re using the bundled group forums that come with BuddyPress, modify the /groups/single/forum/topic.php template.
If you’re using bbPress 2.0, try asking over at the bbpress.org forums.
In reply to: [Resolved] Redirect after topic replyAre you using any plugins that might be altering the forum redirect?
Have you tried using the bp-default theme with no other plugins activated?
Use something like this in your template:
`<?php
if ( function_exists( ‘bp_loggedin_user_domain’ ) )
echo trailingslashit( bp_loggedin_user_domain() . constant( ‘BP_FOLLOWING_SLUG’ ) );
?>`Omit the “function_exists” line if you’re using this in a BuddyPress template file.
What is AMU? Some type of import script? If so, make sure that the FIrst Name and Last Name is filled in when importing the user and BuddyPress should pick it up.
To test, try adding a new user from the WP Users screen:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Users_Add_New_ScreenMake sure to fill in everything except “Website”.
Stephanie, can you post an enhancement ticket about this on Trac?
https://trac.buddypress.org/newticketLogin with the same credentials you use on this site.
In reply to: Getting array of all membersIf you want to grab multiple xprofile fields from all members, the best way at the moment to accomplish this is to use a direct DB query.
I was going to recommend the members loop, but you need specific xprofile fields.
In reply to: Group avatars nothing happens after uploadThe group avatar cropper issue should be fixed as of r6385 in trunk.
In reply to: Features of BuddyPressYou’ll definitely want to test against WP eMember. (You should do this on a local install and not your production site!)
BuddyPress has its own registration page that might not gel with WP eMember. Might need to build a companion plugin that integrates properly.
In reply to: Widgets & sidebar not showing after upgradeIt sounds like you’re just missing the code for the widgets to show up.
Since I don’t have access to the Huddle theme, it should be as simple as adding the dynamic_sidebar() function to your frontpage template:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/dynamic_sidebarMake sure you know what the sidebar ID is though. Again, this sounds like a theme issue. Try contacting the theme developers for Huddle.
In reply to: Features of BuddyPressYes, it’s possible. But it would require custom development.
You might want to look into s2member. That’s one option, but there are probably a few others as well.
In reply to: Buddypress Activity Time is off by 5 hoursSounds like a bug.
Can you post about this here?
https://trac.buddypress.org/newticketLogin with the same credentials you use on this site.
In reply to: Widgets & sidebar not showing after upgradeIt looks like you’re using Huddle.
You should contact the theme developer and tell them about this issue.
In reply to: There is reason for concern in the future!!There are plugins that already do this:
BuddyPress Links – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-links/
BP-Media – https://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/
BP Media Component – http://rtcamp.com/buddypress-media/In reply to: Buddha.fmCool! Nice to see a webradio station using BuddyPress!
One thing, you should provide .m3u or .pls playlist links for those wanting to stream the stations on their own players.
I had to manually sniff out the streams!

By default, you cannot limit users per forum or group. This would have to be accomplished by a plugin; there might be a plugin that exists out there that does this, but nothing comes to mind at the moment.
You’ll want to take a look at the bp_get_displayed_user_nav() function.
There’s a filter there that applies to each menu item, which you can hook into and override.
In reply to: how to enable tool bar?Try logging in to your WP admin dashboard and navigating to “Settings > BuddyPress”. Next, click ono the “Settings” tab, you should have the option to enable the WP Toolbar.
In reply to: Where are the plugins?This is a bug that’s been mentioned here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4532Until that’s fixed, mercime is right to just check the wordpress.org plugins repository:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=buddypressIn reply to: Activity content outside the loop, in the head?You could also wrap modemlooper’s code with a few conditionals:
`<?php
// see if the activity component is active and if we’re currently on an activity permalink page
if ( bp_is_active( ‘activity’ ) && bp_is_single_activity() ) :
// add our mini activity loop
if ( bp_has_activities( ‘include=’ . bp_current_action() ) ) :
while ( bp_activities() ) : bp_the_activity();
?><meta property="og:description" content="”/>
<?php
endwhile;
endif;
endif;
?>`This can also be turned into a tiny plugin, so if you don’t like adding huge chunks of code into your header.php, you could hook into the ‘bp_head’ action:
http://pastebin.com/CPAk4D16 (paste the following into wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php)I see two options:
1) Use jQuery to dynamically make the `#header` clickable. If you’re using the bp-default theme, you’d have to take additional steps to omit other elements like the tab navigation and search bar from being clicked.
2) Unhook the background-image that is added dynamically via inline CSS, rewrite your header.php template and add the header image manually with `
` and then wrap an `` tag around that image so your header is clickable.
I’d probably go with option 1.
In reply to: BP Test DriveYou should be able to disable the admin bar for logged-out users in the WP admin area by navigating to “Settings > BuddyPress“, then click on the “Settings” tab.
If someone really wanted to find out if you were using BuddyPress, then it would be quite simple. I would take steps to try and hide the fact you were using WordPress first, then move down the ladder to BuddyPress later on.
About notifications without the admin bar, there are some third-party plugins available like:
http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-notifications-widget/ (a widget)With BP 1.7, we’ll be adding universal theme compatibility, so we’ll be taking some steps to try and make life without the admin bar a little easier.
In reply to: Group forum edit topic or reply doesn’t do it@anointed – The activity entry reply vs. edit was addressed here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4350I tried to duplicate your problem on BP 1.7-bleeding and I can’t experience what you’re experiencing.
I edited a forum topic and the activity entry says “x edited the forum topic Y in the group Z”.
This is what I see when I edit a forum topic:

—
This is what I see when I edit a forum reply:

(Off-topic: should probably rename the h3 tag here to “Edit your forum reply in ‘New Topic'”)
—
If you’re using some plugins or you have modified your BP template files, this might also be contributing to your problem.
Edit: I see that you’re using bbPress trunk and not bundled bbPress. If you’re using bbPress v2.0 integration with groups, then that’s probably what’s causing the issue. Still some refining to do before everything gels with one another!
Thanks for debugging, @erikahrend. Did this happen after upgrading BuddyPress? If not, did you change anything that might have caused this?
