In reply to: How to default group view to Forum
Please read the instructions provided in the previous post.
All you need to do is create a new folder in /wp-content/themes/.
Then you create a stylesheet with the data listed in the tutorial.Next, you should copy over “/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/groups/groups-loop.php” to your new theme, maintaining the directory structure.
eg. /wp-content/themes/YOUR_NEW_THEME/groups/groups-loop.php
Then make your changes there.
In reply to: How to default group view to ForumIf you make changes to the default BP theme, you should create a child theme so your changes will not be overwritten when you upgrade BP.
In reply to: New member registration only with invitationDoesn’t something like this already exist?
Secure Invites for WPMU (not standard WP)
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-secure-invites/There should be other similar types of plugins as well.
Just do a search in the WP plugin repository.
In reply to: Unable to create groupCool! Glad you can create groups now!
That’s correct. Read the FAQ:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-usernames-only/I believe I’ve answered most of the questions, but let me know if anything isn’t clear.
@rossagrant – Not certain that these core hacks will be in for v1.2.4, but I’ll see if I can sway the dev team

Re: profile loop – http://testbp.org/members/andy/profile/ – it’s the part right underneath the profile tab.
I just noticed a small bug and just put out v0.51. If you can’t wait for WordPress’ plugin repository to update, you can manually download the files here:
https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/buddypress-usernames-only/trunk/Luckily for you, I just created a plugin for such a thing!
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-usernames-only/Please follow the plugin instructions.
In reply to: Plugin Request: a conditional “If Logged-In” WidgetNope… if you’re using Widget Logic, input:
is_user_logged_in()for the widget you want to set a conditional for.
I do not want to alienate people who did not ask to be immediately signed up to a forum
BuddyPress is not a forum script!

So you want to remove someone’s profile if it matches a certain ID?
It’s could be possible to redirect to the homepage if someone attempts to go to a certain user’s profile. In reply to: Plugin Request: a conditional “If Logged-In” WidgetUse the Widget Logic or Widget Context plugin.
@bofw @catagirl @agrundner – Plugin is out!
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-usernames-onlyRead the instructions! You have to apply two core hacks.
In reply to: How to get specific user idThis should help:
bp_core_get_username( $user_id );I’m about to package the plugin; though it requires two core hacks.
Check back in a few hours. In reply to: Incorrect friend count after user is deleted@linusf – So you applied the changes listed in the changeset and you still receive the wrong friend count? If so, please re-open the ticket.
In reply to: Unable to create groupAre you using any BP plugins per chance that limit group creation?
In reply to: FB and buddypressTry this FB plugin:
http://www.justin-klein.com/projects/wp-fb-autoconnectRead the plugin’s instructions!
In reply to: email notification – changing the “from” settingI’d try using a SMTP plugin:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/smtpIn reply to: My BB forum font error. Help me.It’s a known bug:
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/1445Keep watching that ticket for further details.
In reply to: some members’ profile data display incorrectly!Could be spam accounts. Are these users doing anything weird on your site?
I haven’t checked the source fully, but it looks like the Group Documents plugin only checks files by extension and not something like the mime-type. So there is a chance that someone could do something “dodgy”; though if you have a decent user base, you won’t have to worry about it.
@PeterAnselmo – ping!
Glad it works!
re: contributor – It’s up to you if you want to add me as a contributor; though if you add me, you should add thekmen too!
@twodeuces – Nice job! It’s always nice though to attribute the original work. Also, it should be quite easy to add your admin menu to the existing BP admin menu without waiting for the 3.0 merge.
I see you simply copied and pasted my previous code without adding the rest of the function!
Here’s the full function:
http://pastebin.com/5Pb5VpSz (updated to check if spamlist is filled in)I think I’ve written the majority of your plugin! lol
Please post the full function on Pastebin.com to post code snippets!
@xberserker – I’ve updated the code with comments, so check the previous post for the updated link!
