In reply to: Where to installThere is no need for rudeness – even if you didn’t understand a reply.
>When is it better to install buddypress on a subdomain and when on the primary domain?
It depends on what you’re trying to do.
In reply to: How to get all values from a custom profile fieldYou’ll need to use a custom query.
Untested, try:global $wpdb; $field_id = 8; // change to the id of 'school name'. $query = "SELECT field_value FROM " . $wpdb->prefix . "bp_xprofile_data WHERE field_id = " . $field_id; $school_names = $wpdb->get_col( $query );$school_nameswill be an array.
Loop thru it to create your dropdown.>after I have chosen an image to upload and pressed “open” on the media screen.
On what avatar screen are you seeing ‘open’ ?

Yes, in buddypress/bp-core/js/
Have you tried using the filter hooks in bp-core/bp-core-avatars?
There are several filters for adjusting various paths.
Haven’t tried it, but might work.In reply to: How to remove links from bp_activity_content_body()There are before and after save filter hooks.
After it’s saved, use the filter in bp_activity_content_body
apply_filters_ref_array( 'bp_get_activity_content_body', array( $activities_template->activity->content, &$activities_template->activity ) );Before it is saved, use this hook in bp-activity\classes\class-bp-activity-activity.php
apply_filters_ref_array( 'bp_activity_content_before_save', array( $this->content, &$this ) );Both filter functions will require you to do some php string parsing – easy to do.
Lots of info out there, like: http://www.stumiller.me/code-snippet-strip-links-from-string-in-php/Use a hook for testing, something like:
function jr_test() { bp_activity_add(...); } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'jr_test' );>Why isn’t there a table name here?
It’s probably a timing issue – the name hasn’t been set at the point where you run your code.
What hook are you using for the function that uses bp_activity_add ?
In reply to: Relate commenter name with user profileHave you tried asking the authors of YITH Advanced Reviews how to change the commenter link?
Since it’s a premium plugin, I doubt you will find an answer on this forum.
In reply to: Externally LoginHave you tried this:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_signonIn reply to: Login/out problemThis is the standard login link: http://www.profoundstudio.net/wp-login.php
So your login/out link is non-standard.
Did you ask the theme authors about your issue?In reply to: Login/out problem>the BP Login Redirect plugin
If you disable that plugin, does the issue persist?
If not, have you asked the plugin author about your issue?
In reply to: Creating Lessons Within Buddy PressIn reply to: Cant access /members>The plugin that i use for this redirections?
Yes, probably it saved something to the database.
Re-enable it and change the plugin ‘settings’.In reply to: Plugin to manage non-active usersHave you tried https://github.com/imath/bp-wake-up-sleepers ?
Try:
function example_insert_category( $group_id ) { $group = groups_get_group( array( 'group_id' => $group_id ) ); $name = $group->name; $slug = $group->slug; wp_insert_term( $name, 'category', array( 'description' => 'This is an example category.', 'slug' => $slug ) ); } add_action('groups_group_create_complete', 'example_insert_category', 1, 1);In reply to: Add Friend SlowNormally, the Add Friend action is very fast.
The issue is probably in your theme or server setup.
Try switching to a WP theme like 2013 and then check the speed of the same button actions.In reply to: using action bp_core_signup_after_activateThen it’s probably fine – the print_r doesn’t appear because it redirects right after it.
Delete the die call and write the ids to file.
Or maybe explain what you really want to do at that hook.In reply to: Getting Username for linkFor a logged in user, their profile url is returned by
bp_loggedin_user_domain();
Use that to build the link.In reply to: using action bp_core_signup_after_activateIs it throwing a error?
Or you just can’t see the print_r result ?If the latter, it may be there is no screen to print to at that momement.
Right below that is a filter hook – follow it – does it redirect?Try writing to a file instead of print_r.
And / Or get rid of the die call.Maybe it doesn’t matter, but the action hook has 2 params – I’d use both just to be technically safe.
In reply to: [Resolved] Disabling new message emailsYou want to prevent emails being sent for all new messages?
Try this in your theme/functions.php or in plugins/bp-custom.php
remove_action( 'messages_message_sent', 'messages_notification_new_message', 10 );If that doesn’t work, try writing a function using this hook:
do_action_ref_array( 'messages_message_sent', array( &$message ) );
Found in: bp-messages\bp-messages-functions.phpIn that function, remove all the recipients from $message.
