We have a similar issue with uploading images if the user role is ‘Vendor’… we need Contributor and Vendor to be able to upload Profile photos. For some reason, BP bars any others from doing it. Need a way around it.
We have this same problem. Vendors cannot add photos to their profile, as BP seems to lock it down to Contributor only. I see no one has responded. Did you ever find a solution?
I have the same problem with the Porto theme. It works on desktop, but on a phone, it literally says Error on uploading…..
I doubt this is theme related. If it allows an image to be uploaded…. on desktop, why not on mobile?!
We are told that our theme, Porto, is not testing with Buddy Press.
Is there is obvious area for us to check, to make the Buddy Press sidebar work? We have the Sidebar set with the various widgets, but it just doesn’t appear on the page, so BP must be ovveriding it.
Can someone please assist?
Ok thank you. I’m using a similar plugin to that, which blocks access to the store until someone is a user type, so will go down that route.
Just assumed it would come with something like that, as default.
WE cannot possibly do that. We need about $350 worth of plugins to make it happen.
I need to know that it CAN or CANNOT do it please. Else this is a no show.
Hi thinks have moved on.
So here is the plan. Can you advise please.Person signs up for free account, and can immediate post and share on BP.
But in turn, they can setup a free online store for digital content. We would use WC Product Vendor plugin for this. I dont’ know if we need the WC Membership plugin for that too though.People can then sign up as Subscribers via WC Subscriptions and pay a monthly fee, which will unlock the Store area, to view this digital content.
The part I am unclear on, is how a BP person can use the store, and post on BP? Would they have to be subscribers too?? Since they are accessing the Shop areas of WordPress.
In other words, can they only Post on the BP system, but to create a shop, also be subscribers to the platform…??

We have also been asked about the levels that someone can get to, before they pay a subscription via Paid Memberships Pro.
They will have a profile with photos. Does BP allow us to reveal certain elements after they subscribe?
Ok. Well I think Paid Memberships Pro can probably handle that, and I have found plugins that can do the Avatar Moderatio, which I dot’ think is necessarily hardcore part of BP.
They want users to be able to ‘chat’ to each other independently of Posts.
And to have content that is only available if they subscribe. From what I know, PMP will do most of this.
Does BP allow the designer to ‘lay out’ the template of the Profile pages? Such as if we want the user to have a video somewhere. Can we control where it is laid out, or are there fix templates?
Thank you.
