    OR

    You can add these styles to your theme css file:

    #members-all{display:none}
    #buddypress .profile h4{display:none}

    “Tab Base”

    To delete Base and all other fields groups names in user profile:
    1. find in your theme file /buddypress/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php
    2. Delete in that file: this line: <h4><?php bp_the_profile_group_name(); ?></h4>

    If you don’t have such file in your theme, than copy this file:
    /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php
    into your theme here:
    /wp-content/themes/[your-theme]/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php
    and remove the line that I wrote above (with h4).

    Members Directory – All Members

    1. find in your theme file /buddypress/members/index.php
    2. Delete in that file the line with this text: id="members-all"

    If you don’t have such file in your theme – do the same thing as written above but for index.php file.

    You should understand, that this will break ability to filter results on members directory page.

    if ( $field_id == 22 ) { of course. Shame on me.

    Glad it works for you.

    Try this:

    function remove_wysiwyg($enabled, $field_id) {
        // change this field_id to the one you need to have ordinary textarea
        if ( $field_id == 22 )
            return false;

        return $enabled;
    }

    add_filter( 'bp_xprofile_is_richtext_enabled_for_field', 'remove_wysiwyg', 10, 2 );

    Place the code in bp-custom.php.

    Try something like this:

    function your_function($params){
    	/* here is the content of $params:
    	array(
    		'sender_id'  => bp_loggedin_user_id(),
    		'thread_id' => false, // False for a new message, thread id for a reply to a thread.
    		'recipients' => array(), // Can be an array of usernames, user_ids or mixed.
    		'subject'    => false,
    		'content'    => false,
    		'date_sent'  => bp_core_current_time(),
    		'error_type' => 'bool'
    	)
    	*/
    	$your_id = '123'; // get here all users ids that you need
    	array_push($params['recipients'], $your_id);

    	return $params;
    }

    add_filter('bp_after_messages_new_message_parse_args', 'your_function');

    Not tested, though.

    Yes, intentionally. It is done for public groups only.

    What about default WordPress cropping? Does it work? Maybe the problem is in the access permissions to /uploads directory.

    Other possible issue – do you have PHP image manipulation modules installed and activated?

    You can try this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-disable-activation-reloaded/
    But you should not do this – anyone will be able to register with fake emails.

    This is a required field
    On my screenshot here https://monosnap.com/file/GLDmV6D1PVbSwtSEB7rDVQatZKcC93# that text (This field is required) is just a field description.

    It seems to me, that you are using the old version of BuddyPress. What is it?
    On newest versions required fields are marked with the text (required), and not asterisk.

    I believe this theme compatibility problems is better to discuss with theme authors. I googled and found several issues with this particular theme, that users can’t fix by themselves.

    BuddyPress tries to work with all possible themes, and it’s very hard to be good with everyone. In my opinion, theme authors should check their themes with popular plugins.

    All fields in default Base (Primary) fields group will appear on registration page. Those fields can be required or not, based on Required setting for fields: http://take.ms/soyY7
    Here is how it looks in a list of fields in admin area: http://take.ms/tMI8w

    So just modify that setting for fields, that you need always be filled with data, to Required.

    The easiest solution is to use JavaScript here.

    Based on this: https://css-tricks.com/snippets/jquery/target-only-external-links/
    You can do like this:

    jQuery(document).ready(function(){
    jQuery('#activity-stream a').filter(function() {
       return this.hostname && this.hostname !== location.hostname;
    }).attr("target", "_blank");
    });

    You should add this to js file of your theme of plugin.

    Separate languages – no, because all the plugins (and BuddyPress is a plugin) use the same language as the system. Because of the amount of hooks/filters in WordPress it’s nearly impossible (or very time and/or resources consuming) to create a reliable solution, that will switch language for plugins, but will not for WordPress.

    The easiest way is to have /wp-admin in one language, and front-end – in another.
    Here is the solution: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/different-languages-for-front-end-and-back-end?replies=5

    I’m the developer of this plugin.

    BP Default Data does nothing on plugin activation and deactivation. It has own clearing routine, you can see it here: https://github.com/slaFFik/BP-Default-Data/blob/master/bp-default-data.php#L643
    If you deleted dummy data by your own – some orphaned data could be left in DB. It’s better to use built-in functionality. It removes everything, not touching the user with ID=1. It does NOT touches wp_posts table, where all posts and pages are stored.

    To fix – just create a page and assign it as Members directory page in BuddyPress -> Pages.

    Are you on MultiSite?

    @slaffik

    You are right, my bad.
    But that’s a good (handy) plugin idea. Noted to self, perhaps will create it soon (will update this topic).

    All fields that are in the first Base fields groups will appear on registration page.
    So you can just move those fields to another fields group, that you can create on this page /wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup using this link http://cosydale.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup&mode=add_group.

    Another option

    Find the ID of a field that you want to hide in admin area (when you edit the field it’s in the URL like this /wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup&group_id=1&field_id=2&mode=edit_field = field_id=2 is what you need), make sure that this field is NOT required, then open style.css of your theme and add there something like this:
    #profile-details-section.register-section .editfield.field_2 {display:none}
    For reference: http://take.ms/lONUD

    Just navigate to this page: /wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-edit&user_id=1802
    where 1802 – is the ID of that user. Also, all usernames on this page /wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-signups are links to profiles. So you can open there Extended profile link at the top.

    Use a plugin Welcome Pack by Paul Gibbs and enable there emails editing. You will be able to edit all email that are sent to users.

    Is there any ETA when it will be ready for testing?

    @slaffik

    @geekboy68k

    It depends on user activity 🙂 And the time user registered. TestBP.org is for testing, and developers do some cleaning there from time to time. Plus BP was updated from 1.0 to 1.6 there, and not always those updates were smooth.

    On your site there will be “registered” record and all other activity items.

    1) Which plugins have you activated recently?
    2) Check your error.log if you have one. There will be a warning/error with description what’s wrong.

    Currently no way, but a good idea for a plugin 🙂

    @slaffik

    @geekboy68k

    Yes, I meant exactly that. WP+BP (with a really low number of plugins without a network activated) will produce up 100 DB queries + up to 60 Mb php memory usage. And sometimes even more. Network activated plugins will make those figures even more. In case you have thousands of users… shared hosting will die, all the time.

    I suggest at least VDS/VPS.

    I’m definitely sure, that fields visibility should be taken into consideration.
    So in your case – user should NOT be visible in a search results by logged out user.
