In reply to: The group box is to small for the info text
it looks like you’ve designated a specific height to that field. In Firebug (for Firefox), narrow down which ID or class that box is and delete the height attribute. That you *should* fix the issue. Or go ahead and post a link to your site.
In reply to: Why Are New Blogs Added With No Themes?you might have the Skeleton theme selected under BuddyPress >> General Settings >> “Select theme to use for BuddyPress generated pages” in your admin backend. That’s usually where you’d select your custom theme or BP Default theme.
In reply to: Center Column Scalingcould you provide a link to your site or some screenshots please? if it looks somewhat right but a bit janky, it could be because you’re going over your allotted space, so you might wanna try using a percentage widths instead — something like 25%/50%/25%.
In reply to: Alignment in profileif you’re running any other unofficial bp plugins, go ahead and disable those, clear your cache and refresh your site to see if it elimnates the issue. if the problem persists, there’s probably a css bug in one of your themes, which means you should probably re-download/replace and check to see if that solves the problem — you can probably replace/upgrade your entire installation, anyway, since BP 1.0.1 is out now
In reply to: how can I make different widget style ?The short answer is yes. But it does get quite more complicated to more you customize your widgets. Take the bphome theme, for example, where you have your left, center and right columns (IDs). Each one of those has its own classes, so that’s another place where you’d modify your styles — plus, you can always add more classes for your widgets (you’ll definitely need to know some CSS for all of this). My best advice to you would be to download Firebug for Firefox, so that you can make realtime edits to your site. If all fails, leave another post on this forum and I’ll try to help you out more
In reply to: None of the Pages work after fresh installIt looks like you haven’t activated your themes yet — there are two (one for the homepage and one for the members’ pages). Could that be the issue?
In reply to: Uploading documents, photos?@Shalva.sultanishvili You’ve got two options if you’re in bind right now with whatever it is you’re working on. Like David say, you can check out Elgg if you’re in dire need of a fully functioning and supported Photo Album feature. You can also use Manoj Kumar’s album and pay him to provide you with further tech support.
Just because an official BP photo album plugin is on its way at the end of this year, it doesn’t mean that the bpPicture Album plugin will go straight to the ground. I don’t really anticipate much of a difference between those two and, really, how much more functionality do you truly need to display a picture?
As to the car analogy, it’s not so much selling a car without AC as it is selling a car that runs without gas (ie. on hydrogen like the Honda Clarity). Considering the other solid components are already out for BP, photo albums aren’t a necessity to social networking … just look at Twitter. Be patient and it’ll all soon come together very soon
try adding this in your site-wide.css file right after #footer{} stuff and mess around with the width…
#footer-column{
width: 39%;
}
