thanks etiviti,
just realised using BuddyPress 1.2.1 and WP (single) 2.9.2 there is no activation email sent, the account is activated automatically & the user can log in straight away.
I am presuming this is the issue as the user doesn’t have to click an activation link?
Thanks nexia,
however I have just created a new account, logged in posted an update but registration still doesn’t show on the activity stream, any other ideas?
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at last@MrMaz, I’m a big fan of Theme Hybrid so my customisations are only being done on Hybrid child themes.
The only edits that I find need to be done are on the files that use
<?php get_header() ?>
<div id="content">
<div class="padder">a grep & replace fixes any child theme issues & all seems to work as expected.
Thankfully your plugin only uses those on the 3 files mentioned above so all is nice & easy & works as expected if the calls to template files use
locate_templaterather thanrequire_onceIn reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastcool, thanks.
Fantastic plugin, only needs 3 file additions to custom themes so?
/bp-links-default/create.php
/bp-links-default/index.php
/bp-links-default/single/home.phpIn reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastOK, just found the trac version, same call to
require_once 'single/forms/details.php';should it be
locate_template( array( 'single/forms/details.php' ), true );?In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastHi @MrMaz,
love the plugin, thanks.
Where can I get the development version?
The current 0.3.2 version uses:
require_once 'single/forms/details.php';in /themes/bp-links-default/create.php, so I need to copy this file to my custom theme folder, should it belocate_template( array( 'single/forms/details.php' ), true );to save adding the extra file in my custom template if I don’t need to make any theme changes to that file?
In reply to: Testing new theme, Hybrid as a parentJust uploaded a slighter newer version with some CSS updates & support for the BuddyPress Links plugin.

@Arun thanks for pointing that out, will fix it on the next update.
@Anointed, the default theme functions.php is calling the required ajax & js.
I want to add a function to a standard WP theme functions.php to only call those files when viewing BP pages.
yeah, guess so.
Thanks @r-a-y for all your help with this.
Just opened a Trac ticket, https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2131
Hope this helps theme frameworks & conversions.
Thanks @r-a-y,
I tried switching back to the default BuddyPress 1.2.1 theme & get the exact same results.
OK, that would work for posts as $bp->current_component returns the first bit – i.e. %year% so I could use !is_numeric.
However, it doesn’t work for pages or category archives.
The only way I can get $bp->current_component to return nothing for normal WP posts and pages is by using the default permalink structure (?p=123), as soon as I use /%postname%/ for permalinks, $bp->current_component returns the post/page name
not really,
I don’t want to have to use the default permalink structure (?p=123) for this to work.
sorry @r-a-y, I had tacked on ‘component’ myself, my mistake.
I had permalinks set to /%postname%/ when $bp->current_component was returning the title of the post/page.
Just tried setting permalinks to default, and now $bp->current_component returns nothing for posts/pages, weird…
yeah, echoing it to see what’s returned & it returns the post/page name with component tacked on, heading in the right direction though.
Using
if ( bp_is_page( BP_ACTIVITY_SLUG ) || bp_is_page( BP_MEMBERS_SLUG )
|| bp_is_member() || bp_is_page( BP_GROUPS_SLUG ) || bp_is_group()
|| bp_is_page( BP_FORUMS_SLUG ) || bp_is_page( BP_BLOGS_SLUG ) )still works fine, just would prefer an easier way & a way to make sure other components & plugins also work
Thanks again.
I am getting component returned for all pages/posts, viewing a post returns something like
a-post-with-everything-in-itcomponentviewing a group returns
groupcomponentnot getting numbers on any views, will try some more tomorrow, thanks a million for your help.
@r-a-y, just checked the activity stream home page setting & you are correct,
isset($bp->current_componentreturns false but still returns true when viewing normal WP posts & pagesThanks @r-a-y, using
global $bp;
if (isset($bp->current_component)) {
YOUR BP CSS/JS here
}seems to load the BuddyPress stuff on normal WordPress posts & pages where as my longer version doesn’t, any other ideas?
In reply to: Testing new theme, Hybrid as a parentI just uploaded a new version which fixes the display activity stream on front page issue and has some CSS updates.
In reply to: Testing new theme, Hybrid as a parentHi @designodyssey.
I’m just adding
/* Load the BuddyPress functions for the theme */
require_once( MALLEABLE . '/functions-buddypress.php' );to my Hybrid child template functions.php so I can keep all Buddy Press required stuff separate from Hybrid functions & hopefully only load those functions/js/css when viewing BuddyPress pages in my next revision.
In reply to: Testing new theme, Hybrid as a parentThanks @r-a-y,
It’s the functions-buddypress.php file in the root you probably need to look at as functions.php is mainly the Hybrid child theme stuff.
I included a widget for log in/out in the functions-buddypress.php, probably not the best place, just wanted to get it in there, the rest should be easy enough to work out but let me know if you need any help with it.
In reply to: Testing new theme, Hybrid as a parentsorry, forgot about this thread.
Just packaged it up for BuddyPress 1.2.x
Demo: http://xfactor-blogs.com/
Download: http://xfactor-blogs.com/downloads/
You will need Hybrid installed as the parent theme.
Any testing is greatly appreciated.
In reply to: Activity Stream as homepage, no blog tab RC2r-a-y is correct, thank you.
Just create a new page with a blog or any other template. That will then display along with the links to the BuddyPress pages when Activity Stream is displayed on the front page.
In reply to: New plugin: Include Non-Member CommentsThanks for the plugin, however the activity stream is showing spam comments even if they are stopped by akismet
just add buddypress to the Tags list on your child themes css.
