i don’t think you understood what i was trying to say, bbpress is the forum software which integrates most tightly with buddypress.

forums are bbpress which is a separate plugin.

have you checked to make sure the pages are associated correctly in the main buddypress preferences?

idk usually works pretty good. maybe something is screwy with your install. i’d start by trying to isolate the theme itself and any plugins you maybe running if that doesn’t work id try a completely fresh install of wp on the same server if thats still problem it suggests theres something wrong on the server level.

have you tried it with no modification or extra files?

so only wordpress, buddypress and 2012? if that’s the case i would still try 2013 and 2014 first but at that point i would be seeing if it was a server side issue by trying the same scenario on another server.

have you tried isolating plugin conflicts?

if you are talking about editing the regular wordpress profile fields from the front end the same way you edit the extended buddypress profiles that may be part and parcel with a feature i am currently lobbying for for 2.0 which is the merger of the two, both fronted and back.

the front end buddypress profile is not connected to the backend one (for the most part) you may be missing the fact that the front end profile fields need to be set by you in the profile fields section of your users settings in wp admin
