In reply to: bp_profile_field_data( ‘field= … doesn’t worknot a moderator just a Participant
Try
Where Phone Number is an xprofile field
put the code at http://pastebin.com/Zb12M7cz in your members-loop.php
In reply to: Subdomains for groupsSomething like this may help though that version is not the most recent.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-blog/
there IS a version 1.8 that has been tested up to Tested up to: WP 3.4.1 / BP 1.6. its out there somewhere
In reply to: Adding custom profile fields to Member ProfileHere it is see http://pastebin.com/qLe9jXi6
Mods would you be so kind as to put the pastebin link in the first post and delete the others.
Apologies for the mess!
In reply to: Remove 'Edit My Profile'Perhaps try hiding it with css
try
`
li#xprofile-personal-li, li#wp-admin-bar-edit-profile, li#wp-admin-bar-my-account-xprofile.menupop {
display:none;
}
`this may remove all references to profile in the Buddy Press menu? Choose to leave some in if preferred.
In reply to: Registration Reload Error: Lets Get This Solvedquote from @SeriousDon
users are submitting their info and the register page just simply reloads with no error.
created a locally hosted test server ………. got the website to function 100%Have had similar experience but in the reverse
created a local site (though with a lot of customization) all well locally with registration 100%
put it up on a host and registration page just reloads with no errors.
Have no great experience but could it be version differences of php, or mysql etc. ???
or more likely as modemlooper suggests left over tables from a discarded plugin maybe a disable or auto activation plugin.I think (though will not name as i’m not 1000% certain) one wp managed hoster had a reports of a similar type problem from a few clients and they eventually fixed it.
Stumped! there are a few results on google search terms —> buddypress register registration reload reloads refresh and a buddypress ticket (now closed) #4477
At first all registration was disabled regardless of theme.
Then as suggested in one of the google results I removed an anti spam addition from htaccess and i got back registration in bp default and the other themes.
but no registration yet for the theme that “caused” the problem
In reply to: Registration ErrorAny joy on this. Have same issue
In reply to: BuddyPress Moderation 0.1.6Many many thanks. This works. Absolutely thrilled! My earlier comments about these forums 100% vindicated.
In reply to: BuddyPress Moderation 0.1.6Yes, I suppose it’s always possible to commission a suitable developer to upgrade a single plugin.
I must say that since coming on these forums (wp & bp & wpse) I have experienced nothing but hardworking, selfless givers who have slaved over and solved the sometimes absurd problems of takers (for the most part) like me. And in fairness the vast majority the stuff is up-to-date.
Some open source bp plugins like bebop & commonsinabox have been helped along with grants from outside sources. Perhaps if there was some fund that some of us (or hopefully a lot of us) could contribute to in a small way that could be used to fund a project such as this (the updating of one buddypress plugin to be put back (working with current versions of wp & bp) in the wp repository) and then another and another.
In reply to: BuddyPress Moderation 0.1.6WP 3.5 BP 1.6.2 Testing this plugin on local installs. first a single site with bp default theme. Flags show up correctly everywhere, backend settings show up —– but clicking on flags does nothing on my set-up.
Hopefully the developer will come back to this or a bp angel will adopt it. Surely a vital component of any social network/forum ???
In reply to: Mulisite – How to Get a Users Site/Blog URLsee the code at http://pastebin.com/W33QifgM.
Sorry Mods, can you please clean up the previous mess all the best
In reply to: Mulisite – How to Get a Users Site/Blog URLThe above (code) should have read
In reply to: Mulisite – How to Get a Users Site/Blog URLIf i understood your query correctly (and i concede that it is very possible that i have not!) here is a piece of code that was passed on to me that worked.
I had a div myveryownblog (you can put it anywhere) and when a user clicked on the image/text (make up your own image or have none) they were returned to their own blog. You could have it target blank if you wished.
In reply to: [Resolved] 404 page child theme of bp defaultit was 100% correct. thanks
In reply to: [Resolved] 404 page child theme of bp defaultYes, thank you. i think that could be a solution though i have complicated matters with plugins restricting access to certain pages and i now believe that those plugins were a factor in the original problem.
In reply to: Block Blog from ActivityThis link should have been included in the last post. https://buddypress.org/support/topic/possible-to-exclude-post-categories-in-activity-stream-and-make-a-user-profile-private-like-with-pri/
(Also buddypress-edit-activity-stream no longer working on https://buddypress.org/support/ – by design ???)
In reply to: Block Blog from ActivityBen,
I just downloaded the zip to my computer. Then, on the site, went to Plugins—->Add New—->Upload—>Choose File —> Install now—>activate
> and there you go. You then have an Admins Only choice for profile field visibility.In reply to: How to retrieve usermeta data on members page ?Have posted a follow on topic at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/search-bp-members-by-wp_usermeta-fields/
In reply to: How to retrieve usermeta data on members page ?Many, many thanks. Thrilled to bits!
