Hi Naomi,
For the menu item, one option is to create a custom menu option and just insert the URL for the activity page.
For your newsletter sign up, don’t think I can help you as it’s the way it’s been implemented, it’s inserted a third column, making this wider is going to make one of the other columns narrower, which is not desirable. Maybe ask the plugin developer to change it?
In reply to: private messaging with bbpressYou can try this but it’s pretty old – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbp-messages/
In reply to: Buddy Press on WordPressYes, BuddyPress is based on WordPress, it’s a WordPress plugin.
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Bet you it’s Youzify adding those options then
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab? There’s no media tab in my BP profiles on my sites.
Lets’ look at it another way. You say you can hide the tab. how did you do that? is it an option in the BP member navigation in Customise? I don’t see that option on my site.
Are you using nouveau?
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Not seeing anything BP related on that page so I’m as stumped as you
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?BuddyPress does not provide a media directory, never has. My best guess, is that your theme has an integration with a media plugin, probably rtMedia, and if you install the right one, you’ll get options to make your own galleries. but it still would not include your activity post media in there as BuddyPress is in control of those items.
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Looks like a plugin to me, what theme are you using?
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Do you want to show me a screen shot?
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Are you talking about a plugin added tab, like rtMedia? If so, why are you asking here?
In reply to: What is the point of the “Media” tab?Hi there,
BuddyPress does not use the WordPress media directory, it uses it’s own directories for storing media
Yes it should do
Hi everyone, sorry I’ve not been around, I’ve been finding myself 🙂
I might start having some time for programming in a couple of months and will look at updating my plugins.
You just need the latest snippet, only use the one.
You don’t need any other plugins apart from BuddyPress.
You can put the Snippet into your functions.php
It’s worth a try,
Just change $membership_total >= 2 to 4 in the snippet
In reply to: bp items in wordpress menu creatorHi there,
One the Appearance>Menus page, go to Screen Options at the top of the page and select BuddyPress, this will then show you the BP menu options.
In reply to: Notification when a user deletes himself.Hi Reiner, I’ve got two options for you. Firstly I’ve built this into a plugin of mine – BP Messaging Control – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-messaging-control/
So that’s the easy option.
The alternative is to add this code to your functions.php file in your child theme folder:
function venutius_user_deletion_notify( $user_id ) { $site_admin_email = get_option( 'admin_email' ); $userdata = get_userdata( $user_id ); $subject = __( 'User deleted', 'bp-messaging-control' ) . ': "' . $userdata->user_login . '"'; $message = __( 'A user has been deleted.', 'bp-messaging-control' ); $message .= "\r\n\r\n"; $message .= __( 'User Name', 'bp-messaging-control' ) . ': ' . $userdata->user_login . "\r\n"; $message .= __( 'User ID', 'bp-messaging-control' ) . ': ' . $user_id . "\r\n"; $result = wp_mail( $site_admin_email, $subject, $message ); } add_action( 'bp_core_pre_delete_account', 'venutius_user_deletion_notify', 10 );In reply to: Notification when a user deletes himself.Hi Reiner,
There’s a hook you could use to fire n email:
do_action( 'bp_core_deleted_account', $user_id );In reply to: title in header not workingI think this probably a PHP error, wp_title is not returning the title and is probably throwing an error that can be picked up. Try installing Query Monitor and see if it shows any error, also, enabling WP_DEBUG either via a plugin or by editing wp-config.php direct could spot errors missed by Query Monitor.
In reply to: How I can use the buddypress to my siteWhat do you want to use it for?
In reply to: messages not showingBuddyPress messages are loading using Javascript. You can check for any errors by looking in your Javascript console. You can check this by going to the inbox page then right clicking anywhere on the page and selecting “Inspect Element” then selecting console from the new tabs that appear.
In reply to: Switching to buddypressHi Akstar,
Existing users will become BuddyPress users, however their BP profile information will be blank, ideally you’d add some code to force them to complete any extra items you have added such as https://github.com/buddydev/bp-profile-completion.
That’s pretty much the only difference.
Another feature you may want to think about is if you want the BuddyPress pages to be public or only available to logged in users. For that you would need a plugin, such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/lh-private-buddypress/
Other than that it would be case of enabling the BP features you want for your site.
In reply to: Add friend button not working. If it’s loading continuously then that point to a javescript error, check the js console for errors – right click on the page and choose “Inspect Element” then select “Console”, see what errors you have.
In reply to: Oturum açma sorunuI had something like this once, when landing on certain pages the user became logged out, navigating to other pages the logged in status came back. In my case I fixed the problem by deleting and recreating the menu items for the problem pages. Hope that helps.
In reply to: BuddyPress DeveloperThere’s quite a few BP dev’s that call in here, I’m one, only it’s not good form to advertise services here.
In reply to: Buy BuddyPress? No it’s not, maybe they were getting confused with the BuddyBoss offering?
