In reply to: impossible to create new group, register, ….
I set up this permalink structure and afterwards was able to create a group on my test server, so that’s not it.
What other plugins are you running? Have you tried deleting all but BuddyPress? Also try with the 2015 theme.
In reply to: impossible to create new group, register, ….Have you enabled the Groups compoenet and associated the Groups Page, in Settings>>BuddyPress?
In reply to: BuddyPress Style Modules – Members DisplayWell, it improved it, three pages in and the page started falling apart again.
In reply to: BuddyPress Style Modules – Members Display@hnla Thanks for this, that seems to have fixed the issue from what I can see, members directory now looking great!
In reply to: How to remove spam registers?OK I’ll run with it on my site for a couple of weeks, see if there’s any feedback regarding it’s recommendations and then when it’s more solid I’ll put it in the Repo
In reply to: How to remove spam registers? Is that the sort of thing the codex would cover? I thought there might be issues with mentioning specific plugin’s, you know like official endorsement?
In reply to: How to remove spam registers?Ok I’ve written something up, hope you like it
In reply to: How to remove spam registers?I could try writing a simple guide tonight if you like, might take me some time though depending on what else comes up.
One thing I can say is that before I put in these measures I was getting at least 50 spam registrations a day, I now get 1 a week and this is a human who is trying to register with the site purely to spam, to find these out you have to ask then where they live, they always lie but the IP address does not, so that’s one way of vetting spammers before you allow them onto your site.
Of course with these measures there is always the chance that you are turning down genuine member requests…. It’s a balance.
In reply to: BuddyPress Style Modules – Members DisplayYep the issue is that if I change the padding then it changes it for all the blocks and so the issue remains unchanged.
I wrote a review of the BuddyPress Style Modules for my blog, lets hope others support this initiative.

If you are pretty new to BuddyPress you might be interested in my website, set up to help people get the most out of BuddyPress – BuddyPress User
The only way is to engage the plugin developers and get them to update their software to support the latest features and fix any bugs. I know bo Group Tinychat has not been updated in quite some time and may therefore be reaching end of life.
The other option is to find alternative plugins that do the same thing, for example mediapress as an alternative to Easy Albums.
In reply to: viewing registration pageYou need to log out first
In reply to: User Groups “Read More” and Cover Image TextHi there,
Regarding question 2, I think that you need to set up a custom home page for your groups using BP Group Extras. That way you get to have the intro text as long as you like without it encroaching on the group cover image. you can also add some other cool features is you do this such as adding extra images and video’s into the group description, you can even add short codes to display group comments and forum entries on the same page.
I’ve written a guide as to how you can do this here:

In reply to: Login pagehttps://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-simple-private/
This makes it so the only page you can view is the homepage, then make sure all you can see on the homepage is the login button? Either that or modify the above plugin so that it redirects to the login page.
In reply to: Unable to display/menage userI’ve found the problem, it’s caused by BP Ajax Registration
In reply to: Activation KeyAfter a new user register, they are sent an activation email, they can click on this or copy the key and paste it into the activation page
In reply to: Show Group Activity in Sitewide ActivityI thought that was the default befaviour of the sitewide activity stream? It is on my site.
In reply to: Unable to display/menage userIt seems I have a different problem, I got them to change their name to something more usual and I still can’t see then in my admin user list, I’ll have a play with this but any suggestions as to what is going on would be appreciated.
In reply to: Please, Help Me!If you go to Customize>>menus you will see there are buddyPress pages there you can add to menus, but these are the user specific menu items i.e. My Activity etc. To add the global pages you just need to create a link to the page in question, i.e. http://www.yoursite.com/activity
In reply to: A Couple of Pages are InvisibleHow about:
In reply to: Show widget into buddypress profile pageThat’s a shame
In reply to: A Couple of Pages are InvisibleMake sure you are logged out when accessing the register page.
Sometimes wordPress losts it’s connection to pages, you can reset this by resaving the Dashboard>>Settings>>Permalinks page, that might fix your Groups page access problem.
