@dug — Try manually creating these pages in the main blog: “Groups” and “Register” and “Members” and “Blogs”. Just title them and publish. No content. See if that helps.

Did you check the permissions of the actual mu-plugins folder? Is the /mu-plugins folder in /wp-content?

    Have you read this:

    About

Those are the features in this version. No new features being added, they’re just getting it stable.

    @wardeh

I have installed BP on two hosts with no problem.

    The first is imountain.com.

The other one, I’m not sure what it is, as I’m not in charge of that detail.

    1.0 beta or 1.0 beta2 is not 1.0 yet.

    I can confirm this also.

I personally feel that sooner or later, we’ll be seeing a slew of themes that are BP-ready. They could be either mods of current WP themes or completely custom themes. I would imagine theme designers will start making them available to the public, as well as designing them for their own use. Not many people are going to be happy using the same theme as everybody else, which you can see because lots of people are skinning the theme and others are making BP work with standard WP themes. I’m working with the Hybrid template (http://themehybrid.com) to make a custom bp-home theme for BP.

I created pages for Members, Groups, and Blogs, and the error went away. I mean, create the Page, giving it the appropriate title ‘Members’, ‘Groups’, ‘Blogs’, don’t add any content, and click Publish. I am using another theme other than buddypress-home.

Burt, no blank screen! :D Yay!

But what I don’t know now is what I can do with that bit of code. What are my possibilities?

    @wardeh

Good morning, Burt. Thanks for that bit of code. I’ll try it and hope for no blank screens!

Will you keep me informed as to your experiments?

So do you think I should undo my cookies and sessions part of the integration?

I’ve got the hidden-forums plugin waiting in the wings because I want admin and moderator only forums hidden from members. I haven’t had time to figure out how to set it up yet.

I’m really glad for you that you’re finding a solution.

Burt, I would love your help with deep integration. Are you putting some code in bb-config.php? What? The net has all sorts of examples and every one of them gives me a blank screen.

If you’re getting it working, does this mean you can load the BuddyBar with your bbPress forum?

Can you load the sidebar, with widgets?

I’m having trouble just with users being able to login at MU and then be logged in at my forums.

Here’s a WPMU plugin that allows admin to set new blog defaults, including the default theme.

    Oh, good!

I created pages for Members, Blogs and Groups.

    Burt, you wrote:

    yoursite.org/members

    yoursite.org/groups

    yoursite.org/blogs

You don’t have to create pages for these. bp hooks those urls and tries to display the appropriate directory using the plugin-template.php file.

But I beg to differ. ;) I can’t tell you anything about the why or when, just that if you DON’T create these pages, the title of the page shows as “yoursite >> Page not Found”. Yet all the page content still loads fine without the page being created.

So if it is just a workaround for now, or whether it is the right way to make it work, creating the pages makes this error go away. (I noticed it on your site, too, just this morning.)

The buddypress-member theme is what styles the users’ profile pages (with profile, activity, groups, messaging, etc.).

It is what you see at testbp.org for your own profile, or if you click on any other member’s avatar.

It is not for the members blogs. It is not for the home site. It is just for the profile “member” area.

You know, this was happening to me the other day. I was pulling RSS feeds from bbPress forums and one of them would not work. I scrapped the whole idea. Sorry I can’t help!

    Figured anything out?

    1. This is what I write (when I use groups, currently not using): “No news yet, why not make some?”

    2. I think the groups settings are accessible from BP front end. Groups > Admin. They’re all there, the settings I mean. Now it isn’t one click away. But it is on the front end.

I don’t mean to suggest that your ideas aren’t without merit. Certainly, “news” should be optional. And on the group admin, it would be nice to edit group settings without having to go deep into each group singly.

I’d think these features will come.

I cannot confirm whether users can edit groups they created or not. I don’t have groups installed right now.

    Yes, graphic integration.

I read yesterday on bbpress forums about “deep” integration where you include wp with the loading of bbpress: https://bbpress.org/documentation/integration-with-wordpress/#func

But all I get is a blank screen when I try to do that. I’m not sure I’m adding the right code to bb-config.php.

Okay, let’s see. Even so, you can create the user. That user gets listed right away in the user list. Click on the user and it will let you create a new password won’t it? I’ve done it this way. I think you’ll be able to. I mean, it is not the true solution but it might work for you. AT least in the meantime. Yes, I agree. BP needs a solution to this.

I’m sorry for all your trouble.

You can manually add users though.

Under Site Admin > Users there is an option down below the list of users. You add their username and email address.
