1. https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt Since the default buddypress theme uses the_content.
2. http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-post-thumbnails-in-wordpress/ Should get you going.
Just change the normal register.php included in your bp-default?
If you could at least find your bp-default theme file, which is in the buddypress plugin folder > bp-themes > bp-default. There you go to “_inc > css > default.css”. This is buddypress’s standard styling file, here you can edit anything you need.
Anchor (hyperlink) styling can be found on line 503.
Have fun.

Just re-install buddypress and not wordpress? Then yes, just remove those.
So only BuddyPress pages dont work, but your normal WordPress pages work with pretty permalinks?
Not sure if this is still something to be worrying about, but you had to “re-save” your pretty permalinks after installing BuddyPress, if you havent, try that.
I lol’d at this topic title.
Anyway, have you tried, just going totally basic and updating everything to the latest versions?
So deactivating all plugins, using bp-default theme the right way and see where it goes from there?WPMU, dont you mean WP + Multisite? Is the latest BuddyPress still compatible with WPMU?
If you know a bit of programming, you can hardcode it into your theme’s home page, with something like this.
“
a { color: #…..; }
That doesnt work..? If not, did you make a child theme or are you adjusting bp-default directly?Get xprofile field result, run it through an if, and just get the avatar out of your images folder of your theme. No buddypress avatar functions needed.
Ah I see, ran firebug while clicking it, triggered all kinds of jQuery errors, stuff going wrong with the ajax there.

buddypress > bp-themes > bp-default > header.php

@etivite Then you better throw away your privacy agreement first.

Perhaps posting the warnings might help people grasp a better understanding of whats going on.
Offtopic: I havent heard of Nginx before, what do you use it for?
Havent noticed any problems with the forum yet.
And yes Heymansok is a spammer.
You could always use !important to force css, but its not real pretty.
Everythings possible, you could always see the data in the database..
People if your not a coder, dont expect stuff for free.
Rich gave you the best solution.
Installed this yesterday, looks good.
Gonna use this as a base layer for my own theme.

Thanks!
Good websites dont have many links, it just confuses the user.
*bump*
Still need this, anyone found a solution for this yet?
What wall hack? ^^
This looks like just a WordPress site without any BuddyPress in it?
Or is this just spam?
