Just change the normal register.php included in your bp-default?

If you could at least find your bp-default theme file, which is in the buddypress plugin folder > bp-themes > bp-default. There you go to “_inc > css > default.css”. This is buddypress’s standard styling file, here you can edit anything you need.

Anchor (hyperlink) styling can be found on line 503.

So only BuddyPress pages dont work, but your normal WordPress pages work with pretty permalinks?

Not sure if this is still something to be worrying about, but you had to “re-save” your pretty permalinks after installing BuddyPress, if you havent, try that.

Anyway, have you tried, just going totally basic and updating everything to the latest versions?
So deactivating all plugins, using bp-default theme the right way and see where it goes from there?

Get xprofile field result, run it through an if, and just get the avatar out of your images folder of your theme. No buddypress avatar functions needed.

You could always use !important to force css, but its not real pretty.
