Buddyvents 1.2.2
-
Hey guys,
the old thread has gotten a bit long and confusing really, so here we go…
Our shop is working now and our events plugin Buddyvents can now be purchased here:
http://shop.shabushabu.eu/plugins/buddyvents.htmlThe current version is 1.2.2. You can see all the features in action here:

Groups now get their own calendars, maps and category pages. In the works is the same for users, which means that the My Events page will disappear from the directory.
I have also published the readme file of v1.1. Please leave your feature requests there.
I have just integrated profiles into the dev version. There’s still some bits to do, like category views and feeds for users, but it’s ready to give a test whirl!
Version 1.1 has been released!
I have tried creating an event on your test site and I have received this error “Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /www/htdocs/w00aae38/test/wp-content/plugins/buddyvents/core/bpe-helpers.php on line 405”
Really impressive to see how fast this plugin progresses! Buying it now
@ekine
Couln’t recreate the error, Ekine. Just created an event on the test site and it worked as it should.@bowromir
Cheers, mate! Development cycle will slow down now a bit, though. I’ll spend more time now on my Jobboard plugin, to get that hopefully released within 2-3 weeks. Also, the mapping plugin will take up more time. Next major release of Buddyvents will probably be early December.I have created an event with a chosen category and enabled the group feature. Check out my screencast with the error appearing. http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c66tiH6iu
Any plans of adding evenbrite api to the events plugin
http://www.eventbrite.com/This plugin looks great, I’m hoping to purchase it soon for my project.
A couple of questions though:
– I was wondering if events info, such as the main events map, could be placed on my BP homepage easily enough?
– When do you expect v2 to be released?Many thanks.
Excellent that’s all I needed to know (for now anyway hehe).
Ill be purchasing and adding to my site this evening!
Thanks a lot
Hi Travel-Junkie,
I have purchased and installed the plugin. I am having a couple of teething issues though. I have registered via your site for support. Am I expected to be paying extra for support? I’m a bit confused at the support packages.
Cheers
@ffdltd
I’ve added you already to the support group. The paid support is basically only for our free plugins.thats good news, thank you!
I really like the grid view of the all events page a lot.
Will this work with all themes and is the payment a one off payment with free updates.
Really digging your Events plugin – nicely done. Awaiting the support access so I can bring up a couple points regarding the date fields and js calendar picker!
@whitbyglennk
That really depends on your theme. If the theme you use uses standard BP-Default theme markup (e.g. a child theme), then Buddyvents will work straight out of the box. There might be some minor CSS issues, but not more than with other plugins that use standard markup (depends on your modifications).The payment is for version 1.x only. Basically, while the plugin version stays at 1.x all updates and support are free. Once the plugin reaches 2.x the plugin will have to be purchased again at half price for existing customers. The readme file, where you can have a look at current/future features for various versions, can be found here:
http://test.shabushabu.eu/2010/10/readme-buddyvents-dev-v1-2/I have just added filtering events by distance from the current logged-in user to the trunk. Can be viewed on the test site.
Is it possible to alter the default map location in the setup? If so how. Also if postcodes are required for maps I would like to add this in to Location details so that users know to add this detail.
Great plugin, looks super cool!@boomerang
Yup, that’s possible. On the settings page there’s a google map where you can set a marker to the default location. It’s also possible to set the zoom and map type.Postcodes aren’t required. Anything the user writes in the location field gets passed to Google and the closest location gets returned. So the more details, the more accurate the result will be. You could only write “Uzbekistan” and the location of that user will be right in the middle of it.
Thanks for a great plugin!
Could you please help me with the Danish characters Æ and Ø which does not seem to work with your plugin. The events show an empty page (not found). I also cannot delete the events which I created with those characters? (please see for yourself at http://digtenu.dk )Thanks in advance
Thanks Travel-Junkie did manage to figure the google map out in the end. Really pleased with the plug in – currently developing a new network site at http://www.windsurfsailpaddle.com
@boomerang
Please post support requests on our forums at http://shabushabu.eu in the future. You need to register with the same email address you used to buy Buddyvents. Thanks!@travel-junkie I am in the united states and would love to purchase the plugin. I went to the site and tried but it kept asking for a domain license when I tried to add it to the cart. What is that? and do I need it? also what is the conversion rate for US dollars? thanks
