Configuring W3 Total Cache with BuddyPress

Hi guys,

I’ve just installed W3 Total Cache with a CDN provider and so far it seems to work great. But I would like to know how BuddyPress could benefit from it’s powers. Normal page caching creates non updated activity streams since the content remains cached.

1: So page caching does not work, without disabling caching of certain folders/files. Does anyone know which folders should NOT be cached to let the stream work properly?

2: Can I use database caching, since the plugin config says: “Caching database objects may decrease the response time of your blog by up to 100x” Can BuddyPress cause this kind of decreased performance?

Wow. The codex directs here as a resource, but in here we’re pretty much blind leading blind!

Hmmm.. I agree Dannyjimmy.. I was excited to see an “official” link on caching for BP, but it looks like I’ve found nothing.

Having resurrected a 4 year old thread for no apparent reason other than perhaps highlighting there’s an issue it would have helped if you had provided a clue as to which , of the many pages in the codex, brought you to this thread so we could deal with it!

but I see you, or maybe another mod? has already removed the link to this thread

does anyone know if Fredrick Townes has said anything about adding functionality to W3 total cache for buddypress? all I found was this 4 year old comment

Yes I removed the links, especially to this thread which actually offers zero advice on dealing with caching 🙂
