    Wow. I am so deep into BP now that all my requests re driven by my excitement for how much more we can do. Here’s a taste:

    1. Facebook like image management

    a. taggable with members

    b. cross ref with groups

    c. albums, etc.

    d. geo tagging (ok that’s asking a lot!)

    e. commentable

    2. gpo1’s idea – events

    a. full event , map integration functionality

    b. association w/ groups ie a group event

    3. integrated chat with online members

    4. full featured address book/ friend management

    a. friend groups

    b. better message addressee handling

    c. group messaging – ok these are more feature request than plugins

    5. fully integrated content search

    a. results by type (members, groups, posts, forums postings – a la FB)

    A “mobile” Plugin will be nice: WordPress-App with full access til buddypress and a plugin, som du kan bruk til mobile oppdatering av Blog/Gallery. WordPress has a Mobblog-Function, not WPMU, but i think “mobile devices are the future”.

    Good Idea meer.. but i think it’s a theme hack..

    I have already looked at this and think it is as simple as just creating a CSS for buddypress that works on mobile devices and using Alex King’s plugin. If you want the fancy stuff, then you create a theme for mobile device and use the iTouch plugin. I already created a bbPress mobile plugin by modifying Alex’s WP mobile plugin, so it shouldn’t be that hard to do for Buddypress.

    I would love to see the addition of video uploads for members in their profiles.

    I am not talking about just linking to youtube etc, as youtube can ban your url for overuse at anytime.

    What I mean is a complete setup where you can upload virtually any video type and have it converted to flv via ffmpeg, flvtools2, mencoder etc…

    Here is the perfect example of a site that has it integrated. Actually the integration of everything on this site is quite impressive.

    I know, a lot is possible with css and theme-tuning. But not f.eks.

    – send news to the wire

    – send news to blogs

    There a lot off people out without a iphone, with classics mobile devices. I use f.eks. the iphone-apps for ebay and facebook. Its more comfortable and optimized.

    disable email activation on new sign-ups. I know it’s more of an MU specific plugin, but there are a LOT of people who could use this (including myself!)

    you can uncheck that in your option page..

    nt sure if this might be too simple(?) for a plugin but a Paypal enabled Membership/subscription plugin.

    another $ driven plugin, a store/shopping cart plugin?

    @nicolagreco

    i’m working on Membership PayPal plugin too, but i think i will release it under payment

    Flag Profile!: I think BP really could use profile moderation.

    How Flag Profile could work:

    1. The flag profile button could be displayed on the top of each user’s profile, on the bottom or on the side.

    2. A user can click on this to “flag” the profile which sends a message (With a link to the profile in question) for moderators or admins. User can enter the reason for flagging or choose from a checkbox.

    2a) In later versions, this could be put on a moderation menu kind of like a ticket system where more than 1 admin can go look and solve the issue.

    3. Admins and moderators get message in their Inbox, and can go check out the profile in question. They can choose the option of “Warn” or “Delete”

    3a) Moderation can be more automated to make less messages for admins. A threshold could be set (# of votes for a flag) before a problem profile makes the attention of admins/mods. A profile could be “hidden from view” until an admin makes a decision about it.

    I mentioned this in the other forum as well: Photobucket plugin and/or photo uploads would be cool too.

    Facebook connect implementation ! :)

    @nicolagreco

    what do you mean with facebook connect implementation

    Posting wires or adding an user?

    jodyw1

    @jodyw1

    Nicolagreco, he means the ability to log into the WPBP install using Facebook credentials.

    Facebook has a new API that anyone can use on their site to allow visitors to use their Facebook login to join a site.

    Should we integrate FB-connect or Open ID for BP?

    nicolagreco

    @nicolagreco

    As linux user, free software fan and freedom lover we should integrate Open ID not FB-connect
