Vanishing links – any clue will help

    @rosyteddy

    This is not exactly a BP problem – so remove if necessary. Just posting, to see if any user has the same problem and solved it. Thanks.

    When I activate Buddypress 2.2.1 and BPcheckins latest version by Imath, and no other plugins – Theme default Twenty Fifteen) the link texts in side-bar disappear – some remain and some disappear. Please see the picture

    Thanks for your help.

    hmmm… so I missed some info 🙁
    WP 4.1.1 Multisite, Buddypress 2.2.1, Bp-checkins.1.2.2 – plain, simple, default install, nothing else, Theme is default Twenty Fifteen

    Steps to reproduce ( you can test it in localhost in 3 seconds flat)
    Install WP 4.1.1, enable Multisite, BP 2.2.1
    Enable Bp-checkins.1.2.2 – some links in sidebar as shown in the above picture vanishes
    Disable Bp-checkins.1.2.2 – they come back
    Most funny is Mr. WordPress on Hello World! – Hello World! disappears but Mr. WordPress remains 🙂

    Thanks

    Tested with 2015 MS – BP Checkins aside 5 other plugins: unable to reproduce.

    Have you noticed this on plugin description ?
    NB : make sure to activate the plugin in the network admin if you run a multisite WordPress

    @danbp Yes the plugin is network activated. Try visiting/clicking the links like Archives / Categories – Refresh and come back to the site home page.

    If you have been unable to reproduce it will mean I am doing something weird or its a browser related problem ( I am using the very latest FF ).

    This post is not meant to take up moderator time ( that time is really precious and since we have WP BP stuff scattered over so many sites) – I just posted to see if any user has similar issues and workarounds. This happens in Twenty Fifteen theme only, so there are other themes which I can use without any issues,

    Thanks a lot for testing @danbp.
