I’m having the same issue. Its confusing quite a few site customers.

There is something wrong with either of your theme or your shortcode syntax. We’ve been using both Visual Composer +bbPress+BuddyPress for several years and we have no issues so far.

Take note that the theme must support buddypress or bbpress, atleast from the a simple stylesheet.

@mrditt I think, the plugin does not have any linkup with WordPress to save or display any data. They display details from their server using an iframe.

Is it possible someone is not finishing or completing the signup properly? Could that cause this?

Additional info from WP Engine: You’ll need to reach out to Buddy press to let them know that when you have your Buddypress plug-in active you receive an error stating [COLLATION ‘utf8mb4_unicode_ci’ is not valid for CHARACTER SET ‘utf8″] Select content COLLATE utf8mb4 . I’m curious if you converted to Mailgun?

I have a BP site that relies heavily on emails and we’re just realizing that although we’ve been using Mailgun for several months that the emails are plain text and not HTML. I’m now trying to figure out where the disconnect is from Mailgun or WP/BP emails that HTML emails are not being sent (as desired).

@omniscope Please make sure new users have verified their emails after registration. New Users will display inside the member’s directory only after their first login, it’s generated based on their last active timestamp.
