To all the BP devs working to make bp better and better with every release….THANK YOU!
On another note, I’m about to start a decent sized bp project and would like to use a non-bp theme. I know what I need to do to make it functional with the bp compatability plugin and some coding, but my concern is bp 1.7. I’ve seen the discussions about 1.7 using some coding to automatically convert “any” theme into a bp theme by grabbing the primary page template and creating the templates necessary for bp to function. So my concern is doing work twice and issues with a “screwed and chopped” bp theme getting fubar’d with the 1.7 release when it arrives. So I have two questions I would like to the primary bp devs
1. What is the “expected” release date of 1.7?
2. If my circumstances cannot wait for 1.7, are there any potential problems with me using the bp-compatibility plugin to convert a non-bp theme into a bp theme when 1.7 does finally get released?
Thanks in advance for your replies. I appreciate everything you guys do and hope to learn bp well enough to start helping out.

I think that same question is on 70% of all BP users minds, and the other 30% just haven’t ran into it yet. I am betting we would all like to know the answer.
From my understanding 1.7 got canned. So we have to wait for that functionality in 1.8 which pushes it off even further.
Devs please share your ideas on when this will be addressed, as this is a key for most everyone using BP.
Thank you
You understand incorrectly.

Is the download link on the main download page going to be updated to point to 1.6.2?
Thanks, I’ve updated the heading on the download page.
