    Hi All…
So I conquered one problem this AM…I’m going after 2. For my site, http://www.exaholics.com I’d like to have a registration and login page, and can’t seem to get that working; everything defaults to the home page.

The Registration/Login Page should be for people who want to register, and I’d like to be able to set up a Paid subscription to this.

Right now, I have a register tab on the navigation bar, and also have on the sidebar: Member Login / Register Tab. These need to be activated as well.

When a non-member tries to go on to a page that is for Members Only, they should be directed to this login page too. Right now, everything is defaulting to the home page.

I’m sure this can be done somehow, I’ll take baby steps to the paid part if necessary.

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

I don’t know exactly what you did, but the link to the register path is going to a wrong url

    http://exaholics.com/?bp_pc_redir_to=%2Fregister

    instead of

    http://exaholics.com/register/

Control the path of the main site in wp-admin/yoursite ->edit
In the first lines you will see the actual path

    View also in your wp-config….

Thank you…but where do I do this? In my Dashboard? in my FTP area? Can’t seem to find that in either.

You also write, view also in your wp-config…what does that mean?

On my “Register Page” I have a shortcode of [subscriptionform] I must have read that somewhere too. But never seemed to get that up and running.

Both paths that you gave up there goes directly to my Home Page…that is my problem.

Control the path of the main site in wp-admin/yoursite ->edit
means that you have to show at this in your admin !

I suggest to you to read the codex to understand how bp works before hacking the core as a wild :-)

OK…I read through the codex…but it still doesn’t solve my problem of why when I click on register, it directs me back to a home page.

Most likely you are logged into your site when you are trying that address. I was able to reach your registration page with the link http://exaholics.com/register/

Also, if you want to do paid subscriptions you should really look at using the s2member plugin. It’s as simple and straightforward as you’re going to find to set up a paid section of BuddyPress.

I was experiencing the same problem of being re-directed back to my Home Page. A great big THANK YOU to LPH2005 for the SIMPLE SOULUTION of just LOGIN OUT of my website. Once I did that…I was able to see my Register page for the very first time. Of course it took me all morning to resolve this issue. Gotta love it!!! Be Blessed!!!
