Available immediately isΒ BuddyPress 1.5.7. This is a security release that affected all previous versions. Thanks to Vnd for responsibly disclosing the bug to our security team. If you are using anything from the BuddyPress 1.5 family, this is a 100% safe update to make.
Also available is BuddyPress 1.6-RC2 which fixes a few issues that were reported in RC1. If you’re a BuddyPress plugin or theme developer, this is your last chance to ensure BP 1.6 compatibility before release. If you’re involved in BuddyPress localisation, you should do one last check that your language packs are up to date.
As always, please report bugs on the support forums or at BuddyPress Trac. Get BP 1.6-RC2 from wordpress.org (zip).

imo the easiest way would be unpacking both rc1 & rc2 zips and compare these folders with winmerge or tool like that.

Just upgraded and noticed this: One of my members’ extended profile fields is an email address – the html is now displaying instead of this being a clickable link.
I’d be happy with it being non-clickable but obviously don’t want to see the html.
Thanks a lot for the update Paul. You’re doing a great job.
Hi, not sure where the best place was to post this as I couldn’t create a topic in the support forum and this isn’t a definite bug with buddypress!
I’ve upgraded a site from BP 1.5 to 1.6-RC2. All seems to be working ok except the top wpadmin bar now disappears for Admins when logged in. Logged out is fine, and for non-admins loggen in is fine.
It’s not a css issue as the elements are not appearing in the page source. I also disabled other BP plugins to check for conflicts.
Many thanks for any assistance,
Antony Cholerotn
I’ve sorted this issue thanks and it wasn’t anything to do with 1.6RC2 (I was hiding the ‘show tool bar on front’ option in profiles and as a result it was saving with a false value)!
Everything working ok in install & translation. π
Works fine for me! π Just got to wait for the official release now!
