I’ve tried to install that group doc plugin and it just doesn’t work with the most recent version of BP – I guess that answers the question of why it’s been taken down. I REALLY need this functionality for my client’s site. Can we hire you or another BP plugin developer to make a working version of this plugin? We need it in 2-3 weeks. Could have sworn that Peter Anselmo’s documents plugin had a version compatible with BP 1.5 but the github one is compatible with lower BP version. As for working version of this that plugin, you could try and contact the developer at his website and offer payment for updated version at http://www.code-zen.net/contact/
If that doesn’t work for you, you could hire a developer or Boone to build upon or create a plugin which add anselmo’s or new functions to @boonebgorges excellent BuddyPress Docs plugin

Thanks for the reply. I did reach out to Peter and offer payment, but he said he doesn’t “have any resources to put toward maintaining group docs”. I’ll reach out to Boone next – it looks like they are using the group docs plugin on the CUNY site, but maybe that’s his BP Docs plugin and I’m just misunderstanding what that plugin is. I’ll dig some more. Thanks again for all your help!
Curious if anything came of this. I’m looking for a similar solution. We’re hoping to be able to upload documents (mostly pdfs) to our BP groups.

Works well on bp 1.6.1 and http://bp-fr.net
Note that bp-group-documents and buddypress-docs are two different plugins.
