    do you have a buddypress ready theme? BP will not work automatically for all themes. You’ll need a Buddypress ready theme and/or use the BP Template Pack plugin. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/

    What theme are you using?
    Does the crash come with an error message and if so what.
    What plugins are you using….

    It might possibly help to have other information as suggested here:

    Did you install wordpress, or buddypress, from a webhosts built in installer/script or did you do the normal manual install?

    Either way it may be a case of needing to re-install as a/some files may be missing… this can happen with ftp errors….

    @ggortan

    Sounds like a memory issue. I had it when working with WP-commerce. My suggestion is to adjust your memory in wp-settings to something like: ini_set(‘memory_limit’, ‘128M’);

    What’s happening is theres a glitch somewhere and its crashing the whole script. If the glitch happens early it displays a big blank nothing.Turn off ALL plugins, then turn on BP. See if it crashes again.
    Also, view the source of the blank page, you can see if anything is loading at all.

    Sorry to see this thread. Here are two resources that might help you install BP and troubleshoot blank pages:

    Blank pages:
    https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/

    Installation
    http://www.technologyquestions.com/2011/06/22/how-to-install-buddypress-without-pain/

    @dennissmolek memory limits can be overcome in the wp-config file, too. I’m not sure what happens to wp-settings during an upgrade of WP. Is the wp-settings file potentially overwritten?

    Ggortan, do you have jetpack installed?

    I have noticed many problems with jetpack causing memory errors.

    @LPH2005 Good point, I dont know if it gets overwritten, I’ll have to look into that..
