I have had 2 users recently who could not change their emails , so I had to do it as admin.

When a user go to ‘settings’ and change their email, nothing happens. Is he or she supposed to receive a confirmation email?

@vapvarun Thanks, I found the pot. I see some strange stuff in my languages/plugins folder – it looks like language files with .json and .php extension. Is it safe to dele those.
I think something is messing up the my custom language file

I think the plugin is discontinued/abandoned.

I switched to JAAS which is what Buddymeet used.

With a free account you can have 25 users/month.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks @wbcomdesigns and @imath!

I stopped using Loco and created a custom language file. I found most of the strings, but there are still some missing: ‘visit group’ and ‘account settings’ for instance.

Maybe I need to update my Danish translation to latest pot-file? It is only 93% in Polyglot.

Where do I download the latest .pot?

    Thanks again!

    @capexpe , did you find a solution ?

    Hi

    1) For my BP community, it would be nice if ‘Buddypress Follow’ was part of core and replaced the ‘friends’ functionality. It should be either/or – both together is confusing for users, IMO.

    2) Thanks @venutius, for updating the plugin. I tried it on my staging site. When I clicked ‘follow’, there was a critical error, but refreshing the site fixed it, so that it showed 1 follow on user’s profile.

    Hello developers,

What about a group video conferencing option, like Buddymeet ?

The plugin uses Jitsi’s open source software. Maybe a self hosted Jitsi instance could be an add-on?

I don’t expect this for 14.0, since I suspect it would be time consuming. But it would be a cool future feature I think.

    Tested again
If I disable ‘sign-in popup’ in the BuddyX theme I no longer get the parser error.

    Thanks Varun.

With this code I get the message ‘parser error’ . I am using BuddyX pro.

    Thanks for connecting on Mastodon.

I would like something like this as well… have you found a code snippet that does the trick?

Nevermind. My bad. The option is under ‘settings’ – I was looking under ‘profile’.
Sorry for wasting your time, thanks anyway

    Thanks for your answer, @fawp.

I do have account settings component enabled, and I also checked in the Twenty twenty two theme, and I don’t see the possibility to change email in the Buddypress settings.

    Hi developers,

I updated to 11.0.0 with no other issues than some translation missing. I use the BuddyX-theme.
Thanks for your work with this plugin.

I just updated to 10.5 and tested user registration with no issues – members and groups pages also OK.
    I use the theme BuddyX.

Thanks, @vapvarun .. ‘!important’ did the trick for me.

    Thanks @vapvarun.

I deactivated WP Better Emails and BP registration options and now mails go out fine, it seems. I haven’t had any new registrations yet, though.

Will investigate more, when I have time, but I don’t think it is a Buddypress problem.

I think it is a compatibility issure with Buddypress Registration Options.

    Hi aeldri,

r-a-y showed me how to do it in this thread

I added a few lines that insert images in the header and footer of the template – line 189-192 and 215-221 and created the folders in my theme and uploaded the template file.

The problem with recipient name might be due to a typo in the e-mail templates. Check if a bracket ({) is missing ?

    +1, this worries me too.

I managed to promote myself to group admin via database following your instructions, but I still don’t see and therefore can’t manage members from buddypress, even when changing theme. I do see the members in the database.
I discovered that I do have other groups created by site members – and I am able to manage members in these groups as a site admin. Strange.

Thanks for your time and help anyway. 🙂

    Lars.

Yes. From WP-backend I get this with a group that has 9 members:

I can manage members in all other groups, except this one, which I did not create myself.
