@Svenl77
Anytime looks good, but the license means that I can’t use it. There’s lots of filters though, so you can change the 30 min interval to 10 min really easy.
It was really late yesterday, when I put the dev version online and I hardly did any testing. Should be easy to debug. It’s only one small function that does the group checking…Hmm, I could just recreate an event using wp_schedule_event. This could be a lot easier than I thought
I’ll look into it, but won’t promise that recurrent events make it into tomorrows release!In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginJust added geo coordinates to the RSS Feeds and attendance buttons to the calendar popups. Now I’m thinking about combining the calendar view with the directory/my-events view and leave it up to the user to switch between the two, with the list view being the default.
What do ya think?
Off to bed
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginI’ve just added support to the plugin to restrict the number of attendees per event. I’ve uploaded the latest dev version to the testsite (http://buddyvents.jobboardr.com). Please note that there will probably still be some bugs in the restrict-attendee and group (support for hidden/private/public) functionality. I will fix anything I find tomorrow (sunday) and the plugin release will go ahead this monday!
BuddyPress forums are group based by default, so you could set each group up to be an office and each office would get its own forum. It would all come together on the forums directory. From what you wrote it doesn’t sound like you’ll be needing all the social networking that ships with BP, so WP MS (setting offices up as blogs) and a standalone forum (without BP) might be better suited to your needs.
In reply to: user created eccommerce storesBuilding a marketplace isn’t an easy feat. I coded a plugin that gives each group it’s own marketplace. It took a long time to code and it’s quite specific to the use I needed it for. What rogercoathup suggested might be your best bet from what I’ve seen so far.
To be honest, I wouldn’t even start with just ‘small to medium’ coding experience. It’s better to let a developer do it for you. There’s a lot of security stuff to think about and a marketplace needs to be basically bomb-proof!
EDIT: just saw that this thread is actually 5 months old…

I’ve changed the js for the datepicker. The end date has to be the same or at a later date as the start date now. It still doesn’t account for the time, though, and if someone adds a date manually it still relies on the server check, but it’s a good start.In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginSo, if you don’t mean to hijack this thread, why do you do it?

The loop uses the same access logic as the calendar now, so the plugin is now fully compatible with any combination of group status/event status.In reply to: Membermap for Buddypress@pcwriter
Cheers! Many many hours of coding. Even longer to come up with that “Powered by…” line

The events calendar is now fully compatible with private/hidden groups. To see a public event for a private/hidden group the loggedin user needs to be a member of that group. If the event is private the user needs to be a group member and be invited to the event for the event to show up.That was the easy bit. Now I’ll have to do the same thing for the loop

I’ll have a look at restricting registration to a certain number of people over the weekend as well.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginI will, once it’s set up properly (next monday). Still some things to sort out.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginI’ve set up a new testsite running on BP 1.2.5.2 and the compatible BuddyVents (I know, what a stupid name
) version:
http://buddyvents.jobboardr.com/Jobs are dependant on groups. That bug with the error message has been fixed already. Just uploaded the latest dev version onto the test site
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events Plugin@svenl77
The plugin still needs some work to properly check for hidden and private groups. I’ll have to do some fancy db querying to get there, but it’s in the works
The plugin as it is now is ready for release, but our online shop needs another 2 days, so the release date now is this monday (11. Oct.). I’ll have the group stuff properly sorted by then.Restricting the attendees is a good idea, so I’ll put that on the roadmap. Right now it’s not possible
Yep, that’s possible. As Bowe said, you can check out my plugin at test.jobboardr.com. The plugin works on the bleeding edge version of BuddyPress, though, which has been a long time in the works. That’s the main reason why it’s not available yet. I’ll def. make it compatible with 1.2.6 and then release it.
As for the marketplace, I coded a shopping cart that integrates with groups, so it’s definitely possible. It’s quite complex, so you’ll probably want to hire a developer to do it for you, as I can’t release my code to the public.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginOh, I have also added an events calender. Forgot about that…
In reply to: It looks like the user is not logged inAre you using the default theme? And a link to the problem would be helpful!
In reply to: Send message to all group membersDon’t think that’s possible at the moment and I don’t know of any plugin that does it.
Have a look at the Group Extension API and these functions:
`messages_new_message` – Let’s you send a message to one or more members
`groups_get_group_members` – Gets all group members (there’s functions for group mods and admins as well)With these functions and the API you can build a contact form where group admins can contact their members.
In reply to: Prevent Admin Bar from interfering with themesHmm, you could use bp-custom.php to add a global stylesheet that fixes the CSS issues.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginAlright!
I added support for BP 1.2.5.2 and support for BuddyPress Moderation. Events can be searched now and I added a global events feed and group events feeds. There’s also a widget for the sidebar.
I’ll do some more testing, but it’ll be available within a day or two!
You need to provide the hook yourself, like so:
`function display()
{
// some stuffdo_action( ‘my_custom_display_hook’ );
}`Then you attach something to it like so:
`function my_custom_display_content()
{
// some content
}
add_action( ‘my_custom_display_hook’, ‘my_custom_display_content’ );`If you add this in a class context the action call would look like so and you would probably call it in the constructor:
`add_action( ‘my_custom_display_hook’, array( &$this, ‘my_custom_display_content’ ) );`I guess that’s just an example, cause you wouldn’t want to add the option to the display function, but rather to the edit function.
Alright, you just add a do_action call (like above) to one of the extensions and then attach a function to that action, like so: `add_action( ‘this_is_some_hook’, ‘your_function_name’ )`. You’ll also have to provide hooks in the functions where the data gets saved and hook into those to save the extra groupmeta. The WP codex has lots of info on actions and filters and is a good place to start.
@Nit3watch
it’s possible if the plugin provides a hook, something like `do_action( ‘this_is_some_hook’ )`. I don’t really understand what you meant with your second sentence, though
One more thing. Your extension adds an edit/create page with only one input field. While this works it kind of clutters the admin area of a group, so it might be better to use an existing page, like the group settings and add that one option via an action hook. Just something to think about…
