In reply to: Date for next update?
https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/
Use the development versions if you’re waiting and waiting, you’ll get the fixes first then.
In reply to: Datebox defaults birthday to todayI believe this is resolved in 1.1.2.
In reply to: ok kidsIt’s really just about reading the instructions. if you read the instructions step by step then it’s not hard at all.
Probably because you need to fill them in as a user first. You will see them on the edit profile screen.
In reply to: Using BP Default 1.1.2 theme as blog themeIn reply to: Viewing item 1 to 0 (of 22 items)You must set the number per page setting in the widget options.
In reply to: Messages gone from inboxOld topic and probably doesn’t apply any more. Please start a new thread if you have this issue and explain in more detail.

In reply to: next release dates for BP 1.1.3 / BP 1.2 ?Hopefully a bug fixing 1.1.3 by the end of this coming week. Then 1.2 will be before Christmas if all goes to plan. I will update the roadmap page.
In reply to: Non buddypress plugins on plugin directory.It looks like a cool plugin, choice is always good for people.
Mingle’s activity stream and commenting is the way BuddyPress should have done it.
I’ve never understood why status updates and the wire are considered separate.
This will not be the case with 1.2. I’m working on merging activity streams, the wire and status updates into something more “live”.
In reply to: Is there a \’password change\’ hook?do_action('profile_update', $user_id, $old_user_data);The password is in there.
In reply to: Buddypress on all but Root BlogIs anyone interested in writing a how-to post for the main BuddyPress.org blog on this subject? It would be nice to hear it from someone who has discovered this setting.
In reply to: next release dates for BP 1.1.3 / BP 1.2 ?I’m spending a lot of my time working on something right now that will somewhat form the base of 1.2. It’s all behind the scenes at the moment, so I’m not showing a lot of public activity.
I’m going to go on a bug fixing run sometime next week and that will result in 1.1.3. There may or may not be a 1.1.4 before 1.2, but I’m not sure yet. JJJ is doing a good job with bug fixing so far, once the new stuff I’m working on is in trunk, we’ll sync up and formulate a plan for 1.2.
In reply to: Theme reference guide for 1.1?if ( bp_is_blog_page() ) { }
In reply to: Buddypress on all but Root BlogIn your root blog template, open up header.php and add this to the bottom:
<?php global $bp; var_dump( $bp->root_domain ); ?>
then paste here what is output when you refresh your home page.
In reply to: Buddypress on all but Root BlogBlog ID 2 has a URL of community.domain.org?
In reply to: Disallow ordinary users to create groupsThis might work, but it won’t be pretty:
if ( !is_site_admin() )
remove_action( 'wp', 'groups_screen_create_group', 3 );In bp-custom.php.
In reply to: Buddypress on all but Root BlogNo square brackets around the ID.
In reply to: Multi-thread WiresAlready working on this – sort of. You’ll see when it’s ready.
In reply to: Fatal Error on Upgrade to 1.1.2Update WPMU to 2.8.5.2 then try again.
In reply to: Re-do output bp_activity_content()All of the content that is output with bp_activity_content() is stored in the database. This is mostly for performance reasons. If this data had to be recreated on each page load, you’d be looking at hundreds and hundreds of queries.
You can modify it with a filter though, but you’re limited to string replacement and css modifications:
function my_function( $content ) {
return $content; // do something with the content first
}
add_filter( 'bp_get_activity_content', 'my_function' );You can put this in your own plugin, or in bp-custom.php.
In reply to: fullname vs username vs first + last name…No firstname/lastname because this does not work for a lot of international users.
In reply to: Buddypress on all but Root BlogIn your wp-config.php add:
define( 'BP_ROOT_BLOG', [blog id of community blog] );Then enable a BuddyPress theme on the community blog.
In reply to: wpmu.org themes brokenAsk in their forums, this isn’t a support forum for premium themes.
