In reply to: Are We Wasting Our Time?
I am thinking about wordpress.com and how many users they might be running. If it's in the thousands than good.It is in the multi-millions.
In reply to: How to exclude comments from bp_has_activitiesThere are a bunch of new params. If you do not explicitly set the “display_comments=threaded” parameter in bp_has_activities then the comments will not be loaded.
In reply to: Bug in latest trunk activity widgetCould you submit a ticket? Thanks.
In reply to: Get Group_ID from Group Name?$group_id = BP_Groups_Group::group_exists($group_slug)Not technically named for what you want to do, but it does the job. I will add a better named function for this.
In reply to: oDesk Group for Buddypress developersI’d like to get a page up for BuddyPress consultants. Perhaps I will start a thread and see if we can get at least a few people posting in there who offer BuddyPress consultancy work. That way there’s at least a list that can be used for the page once it’s up.
The problems are all related to this bug:
In reply to: Group Twitter PluginYou can do that in 1.2 with activity comments and permalinks.
In reply to: Running Trunk – Wire Still HereI’m working on some sort of @username notation that will email notify that user. That should fix the concern.
I think having others post on your profile stream is a bad idea. I dislike the way Facebook does that. If I go to your profile I want to see your activity, not others asking you questions and junking it up. I don’t mind seeing comments in reply to threads you have started though.
In reply to: Group Twitter PluginPlease email me localization files:
apeatling+bgt /at\ gmail /dot\ com
I will bundle them with a new point release.
In reply to: Running Trunk – Wire Still HereI’m not entirely sure how to handle the removal of the wire yet. For now it remains, but with no support in the theme.
There are a few options:
1. Remove it completely and provide it as a separate plugin.
2. Deprecate it somehow and allow people to load it if they need.
3. Leave it as it is but turn it off by default.
In reply to: Are We Wasting Our Time? The best advice for creating anything on the web is to start small and iterate often.
In reply to: Activity CommentingThe blank activation page problem should now be fixed.
Can you open a ticket for this so we can discuss there? Thanks.
In reply to: username slug wrong after updateAdd this to your wp-config.php file (before the “stop editing” line):
define( 'BP_ENABLE_USERNAME_COMPATIBILITY_MODE', true );Status updates have drastically changed in 1.2, you might be best to wait. Check out http://testbp.org/
In reply to: ninofonline.beVery clean, looks nice. Bonus points for running trunk.
In reply to: Photo Album RoadMap?It won’t be in 1.2, sorry to disappoint. I would recommend using a plugin for now. Too many changes are happening with activity streams at this point, and I feel that the picture/album/gallery support will be based around those changes.
In reply to: Groups Create The Forum Categories? Weird. Some work needs to be done on the UI for group forums, I’m considering ways to include a “New Topic” button. On a side note – how did you post this forum topic? You had to first visit a sub forum and then post. It is the same, visit a group, then post.
In reply to: Group Twitter PluginYes this was entirely built upon the group extension API. It’s quite powerful, I definitely urge plugin developers to take a good look at it. You can build some great new features for groups.

In reply to: Group Twitter Plugin@Porscheheritage: remove all the twitter accounts from the group, save, then re-add them, save. The icon missing is my fault, another update needed.
That’s the one, if you turn that to private then it will stop showing in the stream.
You could make the blog private?
In reply to: Group Twitter PluginTurns out I uploaded an older version without a bunch of final changes. I’m just adding 1.0.1 to the repo, should be available for update soon.
In reply to: Group Twitter PluginHuh, that’s interesting, it should detect if a tweet already exists and skip it. Let me check I didn’t break something last minute.
In reply to: Buddypress SpamAlso – make sure you are marking the users as spam not deleting them. This will block the username/email from logging in and/or signing up again.
