In reply to: Demo Data Creator – Now BuddyPress enabled
Yeah I had to do that. But once done, a charm.
In reply to: Buzzlyf.com – Indian Students BlogosphereI hope the site isn’t running on a shared server.
Why not? What are the best practices to host BP anyways?
In reply to: Register vs wp-signup : passwords vs signup questionYou’re probably not the only one. I’ve had another problem with wp-signup though and my question would be:
Is there a way to have all links pointing to wp-signup (e.g. from wp-login), point to /register instead? There should only be oone possible sign up page!
In reply to: Autocomplete for message not workingI’m having a problem with auto complete not working right now. It has never been an issue so I guess since the last upgrade something must’ve gone wrong.
So whenever I type in a name (friend or no friend) nothing at all happens.
Are there any ways I can figure out why nothing is happening? Or what could cause this?
Thanks a lot, this is bugging me quite a lot right now.
In reply to: How to register a new directory?At your service
In reply to: Getting a consistent lookPitty, thanks for the explanation anyways!
In reply to: Getting a consistent lookBtw. how would I proceed if I wanted to add an item to bp_adminbar_account_menu? Obviously not a logout link because there is one already, but I was not able to figure it out up until now.
In reply to: How to register a new directory?In reply to: How to add custom $usermeta to registrationGood one, thanks Travel-Junkie, would’ve been the next thing I’d have needed
In reply to: How to add custom $usermeta to registrationYeah I think this is interesting. Is there a way to hack this to include a simple TOS button, one you need to click in order to register? I’ve tried to hack the TOS plugin, but could not make it the way I needed it.
In reply to: How Can I Show the Last 10 Forum Posts on Home.php?Oh very interesting approach, thanks Andy!
though it does not work as intended right now: I’ve got the sitewide activity widget in the sidebar, so whenever I click on a filter as groups, friends etc. your code will change as well and display the latest 10 friendships for example.
Although the action line should prevent that right, new_forum_topic,new_forum_post?
In reply to: How Can I Show the Last 10 Forum Posts on Home.php?Thanks Chouf1, seen it b4, still I’d like to do this without a plugin if possible!
In reply to: How Can I Show the Last 10 Forum Posts on Home.php?@Tore thanks for looking into this.
Actually what worked best for me was just copying the code from directories/forums/forums-loop onto home.php.
It does the same output as on the forums, but the actual link will forward to “not found” AND the group that it was posted in is not showing either.
The link looks like this:
http://site.com/profile/public/forum/topic/title/
Instead of this:
In reply to: Group Types & RolesI might be available for testing purposes as well if you need some @travel-junkie
In reply to: New Side: Uni-BlogsSure!
In reply to: New Side: Uni-BlogsLooking good. You got a typo in your sidebar: Weiter Informationen
In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pagePutting it in plugins/bp-custom.php has not helped either. All I ever get is page not found.
define('BP_ABOUT_SLUG', 'about');
function bp_show_about_page() {
global $bp, $current_blog;
if ( $bp->current_component == BP_ABOUT_SLUG && $bp->current_action == '' ) {
// The first variable here must match the name of your template file below
bp_core_load_template( '/_inc/pages/about', true );
}
}
add_action( 'wp', 'bp_show_about_page', 2 );the file is located in _inc/pages/about.php
Can anyone see anything else?
In reply to: BP 1.1 logo helpHey chyllyphylly,
Concerning your idiots guide: Download Firefox, install Firebug and click on the item you’d like to change (colors for example). It will show you what to do and where you’ll need to customize.
In reply to: How to Remove Admin Bar from Buddypress 1.1Hehe, thanks for trying anyways!

I’ve put it in the mu-plugins folder with a file called remove-adminbar.php. And it seems to be working fine! Thanks a lot!
I am under the impression that the site reacts a bit slower right now, but that is just a feeling, no php error found there.
In reply to: How to Remove Admin Bar from Buddypress 1.1Thanks Simon!
That gets me a white page and this error message,
[02-Oct-2009 11:35:47] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_admin() in /(…)/wp-config.php on line 109
In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pageDoes this also work for child themes? I get at example.com/about
This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress.In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pagevery cool! adding this right now!
In reply to: How to Remove Admin Bar from Buddypress 1.1How do I only remove the admin bar from the wordpress admin area? Want to keep it everywhere else. I know Andy added the admin bar to the admin area some time back, but I haven’t found anything to remove it only from the admin section?
In reply to: Multiple language communityI am also interested to help out JJJ. Since I might want to use such an enhancement. I might not be able to do much code debugging, but testing on the local environment.
In reply to: Understanding the bbpress-bp setupOk this post deserves a little *Bump*. I’m seriously trying to solve these problems and haven’t got much else to work on before going live.
Thanks to everyone who can help me out here, mostly on 1,2 and 4!
